im one of thief's greatest fans and when i just saw the muilti player tihngf i went mad and spent the whole day trying to know what the hell to do.

i donwloded that thefvey tihng and then i saw i need the UT.

i saw some1 said it costs 10$ but i doubt it if all of us really did pay for that.

plz!! some1 tell me where i cna get that shit. i looked for it in kazaa but it turns out UT is a normal pc game and no connection what so ever to an graphic enegine. some 1 plz tell me what the hell is it and how can i get for free and how it works and what happnes in tohse muilti players games??? has it began? is it any good?? plz help me out here......

If you're one of the greatest Thief fans ever, then surely you wouldn't mind keeping the business going by funding it?

I'm not gonna complain that you're trying to get a game for free, since my hard drive is full of ripped games, but coming on here & acting as though paying $10 for a game is a physical impossibility is just downright cheap.

Just go buy UT on budget like I did, & look at it this way:
-For $10 you're gonna get a damn fine FPS, & a damn fine Thief game

It's really not worth complaining about.

First off - if you are confused as to what thievery is and how to run it, head over to the FAQ section of the www.thieveryUT.com page.

Basically you need the most up to date version of "unreal tournament" which you can buy in a local game store for £10. (this is NOT "unreal tournament 2003" by the way which is a different game completely and NOT need to turn thievery) and the thievery modification.

These excellent guys at www.thieveryUT.com have basically taken unreal tournament and made another type of game out of it, which they have called "thievery". This idea is called a MODIFICATION (or a "total conversation"). There are loads of mods for loads of different games created by your normal punters that liked the original game but wanted something more from it.

To get thievery running

1. Buy unreal tournament and install it as you normally would. Play around with Unreal tournament to become familiar with the way the game works and is set up – learning how to change keys and resolution and such.

2. Make sure it is the most up to date version – done by initially buying the latest budget release (the one that costs £10) or downloading the patch 436 from www.thieveryut.com

3. Go to www.thieveryUT.com files section and download the 1.4 version. (called ThieveryUT-Beta14.exe)

4. When this has finished downloading (or hell has frozen over) double click the file and follow the instruction.

5. You can now play thievery by running it from the start menu. Take sometime to figure it out is the solo play mode initially – but then head straight onto the servers

This guys from his first post just seems confused. You need the GAME unreal tournament to play thievery. It can be bought for £10 in any well stocked computer game store. Then you have to download the thievery MODIFICATION from www.thieveryut.com this is a large download and you will need all the latest versions. The main initial beta release was nicely published on some computer game mags CD and might still be included in the magazines mods and patches section.

As for buying unreal tournament - it is worth ten pounds but a lack of cd protection on the most upto date release means it has been illegally installed on many systems - because (I think) all you need is the CD for installation. Oh yeah you will have to have the most upto date version of Unreal Tournament as well, this is available as the most recent budget retail release (yet more incitement to stump up the cash)
