I run at 1024x768. My machine (AMD XP 1800, Radeon 8500 Pro) is ninja enough to run it higher, but Windows doesn't like my monitor changing resolutions through my KVM, it ups the refresh to 120hz, and that isn't good for the monitor because it's not supposed to go that high. ^_^ Besides, 1024x768 with 4x FSAA is quite nice.

I run mine in 800x600 mode, because then my monitor (its old) can go to 100hz refresh, and that way i can wear my shnazzy 3d specks and see Thievery the way it's supposed to be. Besides, it helps me pick out those pesky thieves as a gaurd. (you can see the pixels move in 3d which helps. a lot.)

I run at 600x480 and I still lag in De sometimes. I have to turn multiple ut settings off not found unless you show the preferences +window mode so it won't freeze. Also I turn all my graphic card settings down. I defrag constantly and restart it constantly also. I have p3 550mhz 512mb pc 100 ram, geforce 2 mx200 pci =\. One day I will have a great comp and be more unstoppable :thumb:

the horrible 756 X something resolution

I normally run 800 X 600 but for my GFX card suffers a bit in that, so I've retreated to above-mentioned resolution

Why didn't you include an option for 2400X1800? That's what I use.

1280, but i could ninja it :bj:  over to 1600 (not more, my monitor doesn't support higher resolutions. Not that i miss that).

System (For statistial purposes):

Athlon 1800+ 8)
GF4 4200 64 MB (It's faster than the 128 MB ones)
512 MB DDR266 RAM
Asus A7V266-EX mobo (it rocks) :thumb:
20 GB Hd (sigh... I need something bigger) :erg:
17' monitor (working 1280x1024@85Hz)
Creative audigy soundcard + Creative Inspire 5300 surround speakers (nice for gaming) :D
Optical wheel mouse (the best thing you can buy for any computer)
Epson 640 printer (hehe, that's from the times before the war...)
Cable 128/64Kb (shared with other 4 people, so i lag quite a bit :? )

Unstoppable, your computer should play the game faster, you must have something bugging the proccessor in the baclground or something. I had a slower computer when i started playing UT and it ran perfectly at 800x600. Now DE is an exigent map, but shouldn't give so much trouble as you say.

I'd put it at 1600x1200 but the text is too damn small. So its one or two lower.

1024*768

I used to run it in 1600x1200, but my old monitor broke so I cant anymore :(

Actually, now that I think of it, I used to run it in 1920x1440, although the monitor only supported 1600x1200 (whihc is WHY i think the monitor doesnt work anymore :))

My PC is ninja, but I run at 1280x960 for the refresh rate.

640 X 480 with detail to low.

Its kinda sad, TUT is a beautiful game. But my comp suck0rs,

500 mHz
312 RAM
ATI RAGE 128 32 mB

Its enough to make baby jesus cry :(

I run in 1280x1024 because although the rate doesn't get too high it's usually reasonable and the detail improvement is worth it. Also I can see the whole score screen and messages don't cover a quarter of my play screen.

i run in 640x480 because i like ti that way. YOU HEAR THAT??? I LIKE IT THAT WAY!

Someone's awfully sensitive about how much his machine sucks....

1024x768, but I can run it in 1600x1200 but as Neo said, the text gets too small sometimes. (32-bit color)

my computer doesn't suck. it's... special.

11th Jan 2003, 07:03 PM
Like many others, I _could_ run it at 1600x1200, but don't because the text is nigh impossible to read. So I run it at 1280x1024.

*tries loading it up*

Haven't touched it for ages...

1024,168 is nice and smooth.

640*480, and like Unstoppable my machine chunks up in several areas, though outside on the rooves in DE is worst (and when firebolts are in FOV). P3 500, tnt2 ultra 32mb, 512 mb RAM. But I have hope that soon, at least within a few months, I shall be able to return to my former state of machine leetness :)

this is probably a very stupid question but; My system is running at 800x600 but when I start up Thieveryut I jump into 640x480. Is there any way I can stop this? I like it in 800x600?

LaughingRat

You should be able to change it to 800X600 in video options.

I use 1024x768 right now, but a shiny new monitor which can do 1600x1200 will be turning up soon... I think I'll only be running in 1280x1024 then though :)
(woo! first post on the new boards! mmm... still lilac.)

I'm running the resolution on 1024*768. I have a ninja-machine, but only a 15" monitor, so text and stuff gets to small when running above 1024*768. But, 1024 is more than enough, I really don't need more than that.

I run in 1024x768. Geforce 2 Mx/MX 400. Runs really well, with just afew frame problems (mostly because of my secondary Radeon 7000 pci card that helps with modeling).

I run it at 1024x768.... The letters get too small for my liking with 1280x1024.
The PC can manage more though.

What I really enjoy is the 21'' monitor! :)

Hehe, your neck must hurt from looking from side to side to check your life then your inventory item. :joking:

Occasionally, I'll run Thievery at 960x240 in software mode, windowed, so that it spans three of my monitors. Of course, I have to use a special app that lowers Windows resolution to 320x240 on all three. (You should see the Start menu at 320x240!) When I upgrade to my dual 3 GHz this spring, I'll crank my multimonitor Thievery display to 1920x480 (three 640x480) software rendering.

Hey Buho, that sounds pretty cool, you should take photo of that. Does the letterbox style display let you see more to the sides or does it chop off the top and bottom?
