Could guild forums be hosted here?

Most of the thievery guilds need a forum of some sort, and while many have one already, I think it would be ideal if they could be hosted here, instead. It saves the trouble of each guild having their own hosting, forum software, and registration, and cuts down on the number of boards everyone has to check. Maybe make a new section called Guilds and offer any guild that wants one a private (and maybe a public for guilds like Merc that could use one) forum?

might be an idea, the other side is that most guilds already HAVE a functioning forum for themselves.

Given the chance to switch to here, I'd think most would take it, with the exception of CTG and a couple others.

Offer to support all, and then host those who accept the offer. I doubt CTG would as they have a fairly well-developed set of forums. Most guilds don't.

the quibble is that why would we, the official forum fo the game, support SOME of the guilds, but not all of them? no matter the reason, doesn't sit well with me.... when it comes to things that can be construed as "taking sides", it's all or nothing, baybee

I might be able to swing forumspace at Crackaz for any guild that needs it. I've been thinking of doing something different with the Thievery section there, anyway, turning the CTG public forum into a general Crackaz ThieveryUT public forum, and the having private forums for the guilds that need them. Benefits would include being able to moderate your own forum.

I'm not making any promises at this point, and there are some guidelines that will have to be laid out, but if there are any guildmasters out there without forums who would be interested, please contact me.

best to do that, i'd guess. not necessarily for the mod thing (we can make guild leaders mods, i'd think), but because CTG is quite well established.

however, if LR decided he didn't want no more of that horseshit, yo, let us know :wink:

I don't like this idea.

The guildleaders/members should create their own forums and sites.
This way, they have their own place, their own style.

At least that is what I would do if I had a guild. Make my own site/forum.

Letting someone else host is a bit the shortest/cheapest way to get a forum/site in my opinon.
