View Full Version : Someone goes on a killing spree
A non-named bot is killing named bots
I've only seen this happen on the March 15th (3rd version) alpha. For two games in a row, Someone kills about three or four guards, all with the classic names Alsandair, Mael Coluim, etc. I'll hear the sword draw and the hacking begins. On the second game I actually caught the perpetrator in the act in the road between the guest house and master houses where the iron wall has an opening.
I think he's mad about not having a name! :o

There's a known bug where some AI are rebelling after map transitions. Next release will incorporate a payment of rum to all AI between maps to keep them content - or at least too drunk to put up much of a fight.

I thought it happened when you beat a Knocked Out guard to death. There seems to be a chain of odd events following that.
Also the bots are helpless in melee, you can keep circlestrafing them and beat them to death with BJ, which is ok at this stage I guess.

Alright, after testing the new version I can say that many of the things mentioned in this topic are still present in the current release.
The situation was all singleplayer without a mapchange.
After Knocking Out a bot he managed to keep follofing me in invisible mode whacking and shooting at me furiously.
Other thing is that bots are still entirely useless with their melee weapons they just cannot ever hit you, which makes me come to another question, how do player melee weapons work? Are they point and click or they actually have their area of effect including duration of swing?
Lastly bots seem to inflict reduced damage with their crossbows to players, I haven't had the opportunity to test it in multiplayer whether it's all around problem.

I didn't find the topic for victims of Mario, nonetheless the poor bots still spurt into several gibs after having you land on them.

Those are all completely different from previous issues mentioned in this Bug, are they not? The previous bug was AI killing other AI, no mention of invisibility.
Anyhow, it certainly is true that there is an issue with AI guards going invisible after wakeup and with AI guards swinging too high to hit thieves. But those are issues for new bugs, methinks.

Yeah, those sound like bugs needing their own thread to me. I haven't run into any of those yet. I'm playing single player only.
Will the rum payment be called the Benny 1.1 patch?
