    Is NB dead?

Seems pretty much so, going by the amount of interest.

NB is dead and alive as usual in other words: ...when it's done.

    @Appollonius:

It's actually been released and we have been playing it for the past month. Servers are packed all day long and its more fun than fun itself!

....we've just been hiding it from you!!!

i'v got a question why do u think a game is dead when there still trying to make it?
Arghh why does the world hate me so...

My point was that even though an alpha has been released there's been almost no interest from new players or Thievery vets alike. That's why I was asking whether it was dead. There would *probably* be no point in working on something if there's no interest in it.

And i'm sure epic releasing the 1.3 patch wont have helped get a newer alpha out quicker

I personally am just waiting for the AI models & animations to improve. Its damn hard to play with the current models flippin and flickering all over the place when you KO them. And they walk a bit silly, goose-stepping about as if it were WWI

The mockers and myself are playing competative tf2 here in Australia. Not much reason to play an unfinished mod, especially one with no 'new' maps.

Substitute Nightblade for Alien Swarm infested in the above sentence.

There seems to be a epidemic of pessimism going around lately, I wonder if its contagious? Step back and no one cough in my direction please!

Dear old playmates, I just drop by now and then when I'm really bored or when I'm cleaning my bookmarks. Most of us are old regulars and we know it's not gonna happen, we're stuck in nostalgia together. The community isn't certainly growing, but it's still fun to see some of you bastards are still alive, makes a lil tear in my eye.

I consider NB dead in the egg. I didn't even checked the alpha. I'm not motivated enough to try and fix some file to get it worked, I have plenty of programs issues at my job to quench myself into another.

I'd give it a try if it would come off properly. Who can blame the developers, i certainly don't. they did a fine job, just a shame it didn't get completed. Motivation isn't there and it's understandable. Old mod, old engine, no revenue at all. They have a life to take care of.

I personally let go of NB when the site was updated at 4-5 months periods, like any other online stuff. The more time passes the less likely it will happen, and even now it's pretty remote.

just my 2cents, and to talk with a couple of you homies.

Ah, nostalgia, the best feeling known to man.

Do you guys know that people are actually working on Nightblade? Just because things are going slow doesn't mean it's dead. If you feel that things aren't going fast enough, how about giving a hand?

I don't know what's going on with Nightblade, but I know what's going on with other UT3 mods. Compared to them, NB has made huge progress (at least the code part). I guess there was code ready for UT2004 and they converted to UT3, so they were many updates relatively close to each other and now they are working with new stuff that obviously take more time. Still nothing to worry for me, even if several months pass with no news, it will be ok.

There is a real gaming niche for team mp stealth games, hope NB can fill it.

It's a shame they're using the unpopular UT3 engine. Probably not doing much for their motivation.

If they were developing Thievery/Nightblade on the source engine however, I just know it'd be huge.

They didn't seem to learn from the mistakes of UT2k4 did they... nice graphics, but fps game-play is lackluster.

And on the other hand, the lack of support for modding is perhaps uncharacteristically lacking, at least from what I've seen.

At least he isnt spraying his germs over other people .

Comment about the Unreal Engine... the Unreal Engine might not be as popular with the modding community compared to the source engine (Epic fault really), but it is very popular in the gaming industry.
