Yea, my tech dude can drop a turret in Alien swarm 2k4. Can he pick it back up or no? I just found these glorious games about a week ago, I'm still figuring it out. I thought I read somewhere that in 'Infested' you can pick turrets back up. Can you in the 2k4 one as well? I can't seem to find any way to do that.
Not in normal AS2k4, but in the Telic and Escape from Rhea campaigns (or any other map with Telic weapons enabled), you can use the extra item Electronic Sentrykit to pack up and reload sentry guns.
