    Intelligence Info
The Alien Queen has deployed hundreds of her elite units at each station preparing an attack from New York, US and London, UK.
Larger swarms, faster, tougher and more damaging units than normal are ready to strike. Intel has discovered a new unit, The Shaman which heals damaged alien units. Drones use abilities such as jumping over doors and devouring marines from beneath while crossfire inducing tactics of buzzers and parasites combine to make the chance of survival grim, indeed.
Featuring a worldwide collaboration among weapon experts. Marines now wield famous weapons found in the internet movie firearms database(imfdb)such as:

Marine suits have been modified to carry more ammunition and payload with increased speed. Training and tactics have evolved, placing emphasis on tick-tock precision teamwork and class-specialized weapons.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to make a copy of my Alien Swarm Directory?

    • Adding these modded script files will cause a consistency error on un-modded servers. Have a separate installation and no worries.

Is it necessary to have the script files?
    No, however...
    • Sound of gun's fire rate will not match nor give the player an accurate sound of what is being shot.
    • This is crucial to ammo conservation in tight corners i.e. holding off that 1 shot to take down the last of a swarm before reloading.
    • I'm sure u want to hear the sound of your 3000 rpm autogun or AA-12 Vindicator.
    • Modified weapon damage details and reload times are displayed correctly.
    • For a better experience, plz follow the installation instructions at the start of this post.

    Mods Supported?

    1. Sourcemod and Metamod: Source
      • Removes Death Cam
      • Adjusts horde speed, quantity, timings
      • Adjusts some weapon configurations
      • Adjusts marine speed
      • Allows for a simple MOTD plugin, etc.

    2. Xehonk's BeyondInsane mod

    Purpose of this mod?

    • Include some weapons types from movies, history and modern era
    • High Teamwork requirement
    • Breathtaking Gameplay
    • The inescapable and relentless swarm
    • To keep us busy until proper mods are made

Why aren't sentries and grenade launchers modded?
    Storymode:
    • The marines opted for increased mobility and carrying space. Their modded weapons surpassed any attempts to mod the sentries. Also, more carrying space.

    Reality:
    • The damage is coded into the game differently than other weapons.
    • Unable to change by editing the script files.

Thanks to GH7, Redshaddovv, Honk, Faedine, PigtailsBoy, iKossu, Makor, BlackPlague, Sen and all other players for their input and playtesting.

I think your last bullet point says it all for me.

    "until proper mods are made"

If you ask me you've spent more time making this advert than it'd take to make your mod.

I really love how you hid the download link in the middle of the post, rather than the more obvious option of placing it at the beginning and/or end. It confused Idle_Wild into thinking you had an ad without a product.

    Bravo.

    Pretty funny actually

Will change the location of the d/l link.
Thanks for your input both of you. Play sometime and see how it is.

    1. No doubt editing script files are easy.
    2. No doubt editing on the forums is time consuming.
    3. Researching the various historical, modern, fantasy weapons took longer than 1 + 2.

It could have been nice, is all I can say.

Well maybe it is. I am favourably assuming (if that is proper english) that we fell prey to a glitch.

We (westy, kjk, me, and some other ppl) were in that London BrutalCalibre server, and tried to play there. But it was like it had godmode turned on, no damage whatsoever to marines. No friendly fire.

The changes made to the game are nice, or would be, if we could have played it normally- with invulnerability it gets old after some minutes, like all cheating.

Nice to see that shaman monster, unlike the other leftouts the model looks nice, and fitting in style, I wonder why he didn't make it into the game.

Weapons are ridiculously overpowered, every single one I tried. Which could make sense, gameplay-wise, cos there were MASSES of aliens swarming upon us.

Maybe it was just a server admin who made a mistake, or something else went wrong, for godmode surely defeats the purpose of constructing a difficulty beyond brutal, or any challenge at all.

Maybe I should post it over there, but I hope the modder gets back here, I just can't bring myself to really use the steam forums...

    ---
It sure has the potential to be funny, and seems really playable. I would like to play that again, with a good team. But only WITH damage of course.

Apparently, Shamans seem to be missing certain animations and sounds, the healing is working though.

Wanted bullets, sparks and goo to fly when some of our favourite guns were mixed with the incredibly large amount of swarms

Yes, I used Godmode to test the settings out and forgot.. my apologies.

There is a BrutalCalibre post there as well. Thought different users might be using the BlackCat forums; i was right!

Version 1.5 has been released as well.

Hope to see you on the server and thanks for your input.

Mmh, don't think that. There are quite a lot of people who don't use the forum much, and if they do then they just read. But they play and use the stuff that was made.

Meaning to say, you not getting much feedback doesn't mean that the work people like you do is not appreciated.
