hehhehehe

Hmm...So with those wire things are they on the outside or inside?

If they're on the outside you should be able to slit the wiring as a thief
And then guards can weld it back together to fix it

Not sure if it is possible in UT...

Hmm, electrical cables + metal weapons.

"Hahaha. Earthling thieves slit them with their metal knives!"

*BBBZZZzzzZZT* *croak*

--

Water arrows perform the same function, at a cost. Any wire-slitting ability would be a freebie: probably a bad idea.

Besides, this thread is about game art, not game design

Cant come up with models, but with some concepts. I really put some effort in the drawing this time to wrestle the max outta paint and my cheapo writing tab. Im also blissfully ignorant of the question if those would be realizable or not ^o^

but mebbe someone feels inspired for NB watchers ^___^

Nice, I like the 2 eye ones

Don't the thieves have rubber handles for their knives? or at least some leather covering?

By the way, shouldn't we get some new turrets while we're at it?

The machinegun turrets that guards can build by collecting 30 repair tools - using Summon or Loaded invalidates it. You just never hear about it because it's so impractical.

Oh no! It's the Borg! (j/k)

Seriously, it looks great! GJ!

One thing I was curious about... (probly should be in the 'suggestions' threads)
Can the Watchers be made to move more vertically as well as Horizontally? Could that be an option in it's (new?) properties? Also, full 360's in one direction(?). If there could be a sort of 'path' that the watcher follows which will cover the parameters of a room that it's placed in covering all possible angles? Like aiming at pathnodes or something? Randomly or in a set sequence? That would be cool.

(Question: How does the 'Mechina' by Immortious, work? It's the one that supposedly allows players to see through the watcher's perspective and fire at players?)

Like the watcher in Aquatone, outside of Grillard's room?

A button has to be placed in the map that triggers the watcher. When pressed the player gains control of the watcher.

This was created using my (very) limited 3ds max skills, in a few hours. This is the second one I made because the first got corrputed in a crash.

edit: I'll put up a new render image after some more work.

Lol. I tried for ages to get that mouth to look right, but it still ended up coming out all wrong.

edit: ok, new render. Comments please, even if it is just to say, "that sucks!".

The mouth isn't a "problem". It is a feature. If I were a thief and saw that thing, I would probably soil my trousers.

Nice, maybe put a grille over the mouth so you don't just have a gap between the lips. Would make it look more scary imo.

Yah, that what I was think chainsaws.

I would think the mouth would be where the sound comes from, so like a speaker or something at the mouth, like them kazoo things you put in your mouth to make noise , they have a little griddle or what ever.

Somehow that model by claymore reminds me of a animation film I saw as a kid. There was a huge mechanical robot that wrecked the city in the film and somehow I remember that it's head was looking pretty much like that. Especially the mouth. I think in the film there was a prince and a princess too. My memories could be totally corrupted though and none of this stuff is true.

Very nice, though it does look like it has huge lips...A grill or make the "mouth" smaller and narrower or something...?

Well, considering that's the first 3d render I've seen, it's currently my first choice for winning this contest. Anyone else got anything to show?

Not sure. I'm thinking metallic grey/silver. I'm skinning it now, so I'll show it when I've finished. I'll make one with the default watcher skin (if I can find it) as well.

Thanks, I'd appreciate that.
