    Background Video Programs

Aren't there video programs that record whatever you have up on screen? If so where can I find one for free or really cheap?

i think fraps will only record full screen programs like games and movies. when i saw this thread i tryed to see if fraps did it but couldnt get it to work. might be possbile with fraps but i havent worked it out, simply hiting record doesnt work, there might be a setting somewhere to change it tho

hmmm.. might depend on which version you have.. do you have full version? /goes to play with my version of fraps

edit - no, i carnt work out how to record anything but a full screen program like games, or windows movie player, but my version is an older version, new versions may have that ability..

SnagIt from TechSmith can record anything on your screen, you can even set a portion, or the entire screen. You need a pretty powerfull machine to do something great. http://www.techsmith.com/download/trials.asp

                  Well a trial one is:

It does alright, not very good at sound, I just use it to get video
like say there is a video on YouTube that I think hey will delete or something then I can grab it, select the portion of screen I want then record, but I also have a different sound recorder. When done I have the video file and a sound file, then I just open up windows movie maker, put the 2 on one project, match up sound with video, create video, then use my video converter if I need it in a different format
                  SSSSSPPPPPAAAAAMMMMM 44444 EEEEEVVVVVEEEEEAAAAA!!!!!

Learn how to get Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7.

Windows Media Encoder will take your Screen as an Input source. It will take that and compress it on the fly, or can save it later for multi-pass encoding.
