With so many people signed up there will have to be some people chosen over others, I'm just glad it's Moses who tells people so that I don't look like the bad guy.

Isn't it always the way that some people won't be able to make all of it, so having backup isn't necessarily a bad thing.

And with the issue of trying to get the right average skill level to make a decent run of it, that makes sense. Personally, I may have been swarming for a long while now, but I know sometimes I just won't be up to the cut. No sense holding everyone back from a run if I keep dying.

So for my I'll keep my name in the ring but if you'd rather I dropped out or backup then that suits fine too

Always glad to take the heat, Carth.

So, to further divide the community into vets and nubs & anger/alienate many (hopefully), here's a bit of a skill tally I propose (if your name is not on here, maybe five bucks will refresh my memory):

*AAA is for 'Aristocracy of Auteurs Augmente (Enfants de la Putain)'*
Carth, DQ, Apone, Nadia, SirRobin, HybridDrgrLvr, MJ, John's Mom, my own bad self, others...

*AA is for 'Almost Awesome'*
Dread, Squee, Baz, Fuzzy Bunn0r, Durandal, NoData, Bucchus, PestCon, Wolfbullet, Phanta, Boots, 404, others...

*A is for 'Amatuers'*
DarkLord, Metanol, Draven, J.C., many others...

*B is for 'Back the hell off'*
Skilled rambo noobs without team coordination

*C is for '(Holy) Crapola, why are you even posting here?'*
Unskilled noobs without team coordination

*F is for 'Fragbait'*
Filthy fucking TKers

Take a screenshot; it'll last longer.

*AA is for 'Almost Awesome'*
Dread, Squee, Baz, Fuzzy Bunn0r, Durandal, Bucchus, PestCon, Wolfbullet, Boots, 404, others...

This is purely my opinion on who I'd want backing me up when the shit hit the zero-grav turbine. Piece (as Dread would say).
really unusefull in that tread but its: "Enfants de putain" or "Enfants de chienne"

Phew, now that we got that sorted, let's get down to playing.

How about this Saturday from 8PM BST onwards (BST = GMT + 1)? Or should we go earlier/later, or is that a bad day?

I know...it's like a Manchurian Canidate kind of thing...like Bucchus said, saying "re" unlocks Real Ultimate Power mode.

P.S. I agree with the 'when'...how about the 'where'?

P.P.S. NoData, my grasp of French is courtesy of half-remembered gleanings from a most hated French class, supported by the glory of the Babelfish. It shows. Further, 'chienne' doesn't work...the implications of 'pute' are two-fold...either "Aristocracy of Auteurs raised Children of the Whore (Babylon/Shakti/world as power)" or "Best Brotherhood of Boastful Bastards (BBBB)". Cheers.

Considering hardly any of the AAA team have been playing recently, I wouldn't be surprised.

Immodesty as an Artform

'Level AA', in the Moses Doorsly Comprehensive Pwnage Scale - AS Subdivision (MeDCsPwnSASS), denotes skill at squad- and individual-level tactics, high survivability, & good to excellent coordination (messaging, teammate-oriented line-of-fire management). Subjects at this skill level are still quite prone to making bad tactical decisions in serious situations, they may not have extensive rambo training, may occasionally discharge scatterguns into their squadmates (unintentionally ), & are perhaps still unbalanced in their class-related abilities *glares at Dread*.

And in case you were wondering, 'AAA' status denotes the cut of the operator's jib as being in the 99th percentile of militariness. In the words of one notable pr0 (as 'Level AAA' players are sometimes known), "I am the pwnage, bitches! ...pure pwnage."

P.S. I dare say, forums-goers everywhere could benefit from having the previous paragraph listed as the next QotW, if I do say so myself, and, being as shameless as I've been so far, I do, I do say so myself.

its a possibility.... but for a campaign on insane, lag is unacceptable!
theres my suggestions:

#1: lets do it on 2 server, 1 in North America, 1 in Europe (Pest ).
#2: maximum of, mmm 4 player maybe? 6 with really good players (AAA or AA Moses qualified ) password would be a good filter.
#3: only North-American ppl can play on my server (maybe 1 or 2 Euro if you want to do it at 4 ppl), sadly, it's the only solution to ensure good ping.

Four is gonna be too small, methinks. Sadly true regarding latency to your server. Curse MPUK's unreliable server updates (Phalanx maps but no camp option :S). The competition between hemispheres is mildly interesting...though frankly I want Carth and DQ on my side, not to mention Boz (mentioned) so 'no go'.

so true its ironic, cause we use only 50% of my b/w capacity at 6 net players, and sometime, on huge instant of action, its rise up to 75-80%, maximum...

maybe a setting in the .ini files? an idea? or maybe a suggestion?

Sounds good, I should be available from 8. I'll probably be up till early, however if we are going straight through until the next morning you might want to have the backups step in at some point!

We could always meet up in the Alien Swarm IRC channel maybe half an hour or so before we actually start to make any last minute changes.

Well I'm hoping people will meet up in IRC, if not how will we get passwords to people? Speaking of which, we still don't have a server. Save us Fluffy/Vigge/DeepQantas/Pestcontrol/Other person with good upload and/or admin of a server

A few points:
-Will fatalities be allowed 1st mission if it means more stars for techs and meds?
-With proper cover and loadouts we could farm at end of 1st map for gunfighters, acc awards, halos, etc.
-Everyone play Greenhouse until you know the opening sequence by heart.
-Two teams on Habitation assumedly? ...makes for better value for stims. A number of various combinations would be possible. Time optimal would be one team on far south hack, others on remaining three.

If we could get Moses temporarily unbanned from THN, we would have a decent server to use.

Hardest I've ever beat that campaign was on Normal though.
