This looks nothing like the old screenshots!

But what happened to the "Infested" bit in the title? And "for free"... Wait, what?

I didn't see any footage of the briefing room. I hope we can still put all our skill stars into Communism.

The team comes first, after all. Everyone needs to do their part.

Well, this explains the NDA...

And "release date, Jul 19 2010"? Are you kidding me?!?

The only thing that bothers me are the requirements. Pretty high, don't you think?

There's no price, 'cause it's apparently free. Coming from Valve, it's actually surprising...

Wow, nice vid!

Strange move, to make the game free...completely unexpected.

Seems I will be buying hardware instead.

Ah, before I forget:

Wow.... Straight out of nowhere!

Was actually just thinking about this yesterday, no news for years... Afraid it would go the way of Nightblade, but lo and behold!

Flame on!

By the way, what does "Tile-based map generation tool" mean?
Will we get custom maps a la diablo2?

Great news guys. Congrats. Unfortunately I'll be on vacation next week and won't be able to play, but I'll be shooting bugs the following week.

One question: Did Valve let you keep the butt armor?

Does this mean we can ask questions and get answers now?

I'm surprised by the strategy of giving away the game and SDK, where's the revenue? Licenses? Addons or Expansions?

How many missions/campaigns/levels in this bundle? More to come?

They get steady paychecks from Valve now. Valve gets a playable to demo to show off what Steamworks can do, which should pay off for Valve in the long run.

Please please please can I now ridicule all the nay-sayers over the last years?

I'll do so anyway. To all so concerned:

Naa naa! You should be ashamed, ye of little.... Faith? You have all been noted and your Steam installation will be invalidated.

I think next week's gonna be kick-ass. The decision to put it out for free is even more awesome. I'm really going to have to make space for a Valve tattoo somewhere. (Betcha the DNF criers will soon think of something else to complain about, even though this shit's now F-R-E-E)

Mind you, I'm still a little miffed with the 4 player coop. But I guess it was necessary.

I don't see how it was; perhaps we can get some developer commentary on this point?

So is the black cat logo going to get a valve stuck in the back of its neck?
