since last tuesday Alien Swarm is being tested by some marines we recuited.
they're doing a great job and they already discovered more bugs than they managed to actually shoot

one of the biggest problems seems to be the default difficulty setting. looks like Alien Swarm in VERY hard to beat. so we're trying to find the right balance to make the game hard, but not frustrating. Another thing might be good to make clear again: Swarm is more than just an arcade action shooter. the co-op/strategy element plays an important role. One of our testers is making a strategy guide which is hopefully ready when we release (end of may)

so: clean up your guns and stay sharp, we're almost there

That's kinda how our testing sessions end up, actually

Except there's more burning and screaming and dying when MB plays

Buy a comp with exactly the same specs of your current one and learn how to use your feet for mouse and keyboard controling.
Install Alien Swarm in one, installl Thief 3 in the other.
You may get some trouble training each eye to look at each monitor separatley though.
Once the above is done you will have no problems in playing
[conspiracy]Really. I wonder if Eidos did it on purpose?[/conspiracy]

Yeah... Garrett only casts one shadow as far as i know.
Sure Thief 3 is called Deadly shadows, but Garrett... He just got one of them deadly shadows.

Aah, but Garrett casting a shadow is a bad thing. He lurks in the shadows. Unless you mean Garrett is metaphorically a shadow.

Yeah, anyway....we're finding plenty of bugs and Dalai is mopping up the ones we can't blast away...there's also a few cool new features been added. Things seem to be coming along well so you guys can expect one hell of a game when it's done

[OT]AH! Dev tricks![/OT]

Anyway dont rush testing guys, I think we can all wait an extra weeks more for a more polished game rather than swarming your forums asking for a quick fix.
In fact I say you guys better test this thing at full steam (pun intended) and then take a few days off... after 1.5 is out

No, seriously. Take your time there is no need to rush.

What if he stands in the path of multiple light sources from different angles?

I just recieved UT2004 in my mail box, and the first thing I did was to install Alien Swarm. I haven't been able to do any testing up till now since I was lacking UT2004, and I was really looking forard to try it out.

And after 15 minutes of gameplay, I just gotta say; WHAT A THRILL!

And I didn't even try it online. You really have something to look forward to here, it's cool as hell. Really.

Good work, Black Cats!

Yes you can. On a DVD or CDs. In an envelope. With a shiny box, a manual, and a valid CD Key
