I've actually played the top Christian game. I think it was reviewed on Something Awful a long time ago...when I read Something Awful. IIRC, it was circa 2000 computer hunting-sim quality, which is to say that it might still pass as student-project quality today.

I feel cheated out of a true Dungeon Crawl experience. The game didn't even have the decency to kill me with a real dragon.

Star Wars Retold by Someone Who Hasn't Seen it.

The planet's really bad now because of the Dark Side.

P.S. Machine makes a cameo, and it's somewhat more flattering than the cameo in Let's Play Wizardry 8.

This reminded me of Myst: Uru, my favorite 1st person adventure game; you might like this (or that). See if you can find the red blaster.

Zeno Clash is out and it looks pretty neat. You shouldn't need links; you're all experienced.

It's neat, yes. It's nice to have melee combat that actually feels like you're hitting things. Not sure it's varied enough to hold my attention though.

Thanks for reminding me that I posted this; yeah, I didn't like it, in the end. The boss battles were repetitive, if nothing else. The art style was alrightish and the voice acting and scenario were pricelessly bad. Like most first-person melee games, your attacks were buffered and couldn't be canceled except by getting hit, which made for an unresponsive feel (good melee: Die By The Sword, Die By The Bladed Sword In The Darkness Of Hell, & Star Wars VII)

I didn't quite finish it yet, but I kind of agree with Moses: The game's art style is neat and is the best part of it... The gameplay itself is mostly bland, repetitive and at times totally irritating. After a while the totally tubular levels start to get to me too, feels like being cattle in a corral (It doesn't annoy near as much in the arena-type scenes). Combat should've had more physics engine mischief like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The graphic design somehow reminds me of the alien feeling in Outcast (this is a good thing). The plot, well, at least for once some developers have a knack for absurdity

Looking back, I bought the thing at the pre-pre-order sale but not sure if it even was worth those few bucks.

Likewise on the pre-order; I don't really feeled ripped off for $10. Also, I expected Father-Mother's secret would be way darker. You know what I mean.

Oh, that reminds me. If you like no-budget indie platformers, this is pretty much the best recent one. (Bucchus, if it looks too cute, notice that it's an entry for a Lovecraftian-themed compotition :> )

That game is just stupidly hard. Too hard to be enjoyable. World 6-7 took me over 100 tries. A lot of the time the random flying things are in such a place to make it impossible to avoid them, you either hit one, hit the thing following you, or fall, or hit the other enemy. No wonder you have infinite lives. You just have to brute force your way through until you get it.

The levels where you can take your time, and find ways to get all the gems with the right music are good.

Played that one through a while back. A positive surprise, although it wasn't nearly as creepy as the comments claim. (Didn't have the patience to achieve the alternate ending, but hey, it's on youtube)

I didn't find the Father-Mother thingy creepy, the voice and the nose for some reason remind me of the Muppets show or something like that.

I beat Eversion, though I admit that I had to read how to get to the eighth world, and despite the surprise at the beginning of the 4th (I think) level, I didn't think it was creepy; the ending was aweso.

This month has a game that many of you proper Swarmists out there will appreciate. I'm confident that you can correctly guess to what I refer.

Since this is the "toot your game horn"-thread these days...
The Battlefield 2 mod/tc Project Reality has turned out to be a massive hit with me and my friends.

It's harsh, it's hardcore and a grand flip-off in the face of casual gaming... reminds me of the Thievery days in comparison with the learning curve and the thrills. Rounds often take several hours to finish. Punishing respawn times show you the value of your life and the infantry game evolves into a lot of sneaking and skulking. Infantry movement speeds are "realistic" in that walking seems like crawling so it's no tweaker-kids-on-energy-drinks rush game.

Maps seem huge on foot and when your map tells you your target is a mile away it is gonna take a while to hike there if you lack transportation. No unique snowflakes, the class balance is interestingly limited (so you have no all-sniper squads) and logistics and such are of major importance. Weapons hurt like they should. Vehicles can't pretty much be soloed. I can't keep a chopper in the air even if I'd have to.

Also note that if you disliked BF2, this mod is a completely different breed except the graphics. Recommended for fans of teamwork. Not for the impatient types. Oh, did I mention the atmosphere? It's awesome.

Old Daggerfall players never die, their save games just become corrupt.

I eventually got an 'ending' after powering through with the dungeon quest-item-location-teleport-to cheat. Then I called it a TIME. Morrowind, tho, now there's a game.

The extra E-E-E's were for hilarious sound stuttering, in case you were unaware.

You're gonna want to deploy H.A.R.R.Y.

(disclaimer: game may contain dragons)
