I was sitting in a game where there were about four or five people in teams a few days ago, and I suddenly thought about whether there were any thievery leagues. So, after I finished playing, I went and looked.
There weren't any. There are many guilds for Thievery (for such a niche mod), yet even friendlies are rare occurences, as this forum has what, less than a dozen arrangements on it?
So, without any more rambling... I plan to make Some Thievery League.
I have the plans for the rules and scoring system pretty much sorted out.
If people are interested I can set it up in a day or two.
STL will have 1v1 thiefmatch and team ladders, if there's interest in both.

what do you all think?

WARNING: Thread Hijacking In Progress!

I'd like to take this opportunity to bring up TurfWars again. This is an ongoing or tournament style play for Thievery, which simulates guilds of thieves controlling different regions as their "turf" (the different maps). Matches consist of a guild challenging another guild on one of the maps under the challenged guild's control. The challenging guild has to "take" the region (map) by successfully thieving it, then hold it by guarding it. In the event of a tie in these two rounds, a counter-attack is made by the challenged guild on one of the challengers turfs as a tiebreaker. THe goal of tournament play is to control maps with half the loot total of all maps in play.

I'd like to invite the leaders and members of all guilds interested to grab a copy of the TurfWars Rules, read them, and then contact me to register.

Can the RLF and Wraiths register together, with Wraiths thieving and RLF guarding?

It could be a logistical problem, having completely different members doing the thieving and guarding, since most rounds will probably consist of teams of 3-4 members. You'd have to come up with a way for your thief members to get out of the match server quickly at the end of a round you thieve, and get the guard members in, and vice versa.

Darkbill. If you can swap players in and out quickly, yeah.

I'd like to announce that the site is now up at - http://actsmiley.vectorstar.net/stl

Sorry about the ads on the forums. Guides on the arrangement format are being sorted.

err... doesn't anyone want to take part?
So far there are 2 entrants on the thiefmatch ladder and thats all :/

I have to admit though, its a lot less grand than Turfwars is, but a good clean bit of league fun is hard to beat, IMO.

It's also something that "loners" (players not in a guild) can take part in, isn't it?

I may try my hand at a match if this receives more interest. Right now, tho, my hands are too full, and I find regular games fun enough, especially if I find a server with only one or two people in it.

Well, thats what everyone is saying and if everyone at least signed up for it, it would get a lot further.
I'd really like to hit five signups in a week for either of the two... well now my aim is down to five in total :/
Simply being put on it doesn't mean that you have to regularly play games, just show yourself as being active by playing one match every 2 months or so :/
