How close are you guys to finishing?

I don't think many people from 1.0 are still here. Well, if they are mostly still here, they're a far minority now. Many more people have come since then. I came in at 1.1, I believe, back in September of 2002.

Mode2, is it possible to generate statistics based on total word count instead of posts? Or average words per post? That would be... interesting.

Don't worry, I won't take that challenge.

I am also from 1.1.

As for word count list, here is my prediction for the top guys:

#1: LaughingRat (duh)
#2: SwissMerc (hes always in these political posts where its possible to get those long drawn out speeches, and hes posts a lot anyway, so, yeah...)
#3+: I don't know, there are a lotta people that post a lotta words that don't mean crap.

I would not be in the top 10 of that, I think.

Maybe I'll switch in Jimi, instead.

Icon16 Since everyone's bragging about how old-school they are...

I've been in the TTLG community since early 2000 (actually, I do have a nick that was registered in 1999. Think it got wasted in the convertion to vB), but I didn't start to play Thievery until 1.1 came out.

Ah, I can still remember the day 1.2 was released and we found out that catfalls removed foot step sounds. 'Twas great.

Yeah, so we figured we'd teach him a lesson and cut out one of his eyes. Then we realized that was all there was of him, and that was that. No more LR.

I'll give YOU old school, you cad.
Been at TTLG since Oct '99, played Thievery in 1.0 after following the development for some time.

Unfortunately then my rather crap download limits began to kick in and I didn't play Thievery again until 1.3

My first thread and second post ever:
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55558

Funny stuff. Especially when I wrote that KO'd guards should get to wake up again, and people said it would be way too imbalancing.

And imagine if the sword had actually been removed from the game. Wow...

I still preferred the Mad Gerbil vs LR debates.

Almost makes me want to cry... no more fuzzygerbilkins, no more watchful eye, no more firebolt debtes that made the bolts themselves look cold...

Hey, Laughingrat was the first one to reply to my very first post! Does that make me special? Although i think i just kinda annoyed him. To defend my n00bness i made that post around one month after i got my very first Intarweb

Strange way how i used to think back then....i think if i could put multiple versions of myself (with one-year difference) into one room we'd be very alienated of each other

To be fair, you did say "after 30 seconds" - which would have been "way too imbalancing", as it were

Why exactly LR does things, is anybodies guess. For the most part, he got tired of things, like he got tired of being in CTG, he left, like a few others have as well. People come and go all the time on forums and in games.

If he's like me, his cooshy government job offered a promotion and pay raise, and made him work harder, which means less time for the forums. Look at me! I'm posting on a weekend now!!!!
