Just a quick update - no new screenies 'cause I like to take those when I'm done with a section and I've been adding stuff all over the map instead of focussing on one area.
Things are progressing very well, the majority of the exterior is done apart from some vital retexturing, and the interior is now riddled with pipes, holes, machinery, gears, shafts, and other stuff. Adding in the industrial stuff has done a few unexpected things to the map layout, and as a result I've had to shift a few things around and expand a couple of areas.
I'm still focussing primarily on the factory timezone, as the more I do there, the less I have to do when it comes to duplicating it all for the other time periods.
Primary concern at the moment is that the brush count is already around the same as Th-Airship and I'll be (roughly) quadrupling whatever the final count is. Hope the engine can handle it.

Noone would play them anyway, you know it, I know it, something's got to be done about it. We can introduce the change on one server only, along with other changes, post your ideas, anything. Some of you may know what I mean by the one main alteration and that is the map vote, either remove the most popular maps, which isn't the best idea or rise the number of maps playable before repetition.

thats prob the best one.. the main problem is the players.. 4 people will be on, they play the 4 most played maps, then another 4 join who wana play the four main maps, 3 of the original leave, another 2 enter who wana play the 4 maps, people dont stop on long enough to want to play anything else.. the people who play as long as they can have the problem of playing the same maps over and over.. where as people who come and go dont really care

a fast autodownload (redirect) would be so much better, for supporting the use of custom maps.

But necros is right, I'm very much put off of D/Ling a huge custom-and-whatnot mappack of which most files will be of no use to me ever, then again I'm too lazy and indifferent to manually D/L more than my top three or so custom maps or the ones I know I'll need to not have to pass a game every few mapchanges and last but not least the current slow receiving of custom files I'm missing if present is pretty useless.
Hooray, what a sentence.

A bit of thread necromancy...

Dateline 2007...
While the original concept was awesome, the technology wasn't up to it. Four versions of the same (highly detailed) building in one map -broke- UT, leaving it a bleeding ruin.

Dateline 2009...
Having re-installed TUT today, I'm going to try and whip this into shape and dial back on the "awesome" somewhat. I'll see what I can keep from the concept and maybe (just maybe) I'll release this at some point.

It's been a while since I mapped/played, so if anyone wants to help me test this, send me a PM, I'll set up a server and provide links to the latest version, and get some feedback. Hopefully we can nip any incipient blunders in the bud
