You won't get any spam by registering on BuF and I screwed up registering at thievery-customs giving my e-mail beginning with an uppercase whereas it should be a lowercase letter. But if someone else uploads it there I'd be glad.
You can also jump on TUT's IRC now and I could we could use DCC there to send it your way.. but you gotta be quick I'm off to catch some sleep soon.
btw: This does not remove spiders in case you concluded that and didn't click the link to the post on BuF where you can get it.

No they opted you can only attach image files here.
And changing the extension won't work as it checks if it's really a bmp, jpg, gif or whatnot.

I ve hosted it with your Account, you ve created, Beo. I m confused about the Uppercasing. There is no need to register with an beginning Uppercase Letter. There are a lot of those with just lowercase and i had not any Code, forcing to start with an upper .

I still can't access thievery-customs.
My account has to be activated but I didn't get any e-mail with a link to do so. (This is probably because I accidentally entered it beginning with an uppercase letter although my e-mail really starts with a lowercase one)
I already tried to sign up with the correct lowercase-beginning
but then I get told that this e-mail already is used with an account on thievery-customs. That check if an e-mail already is used by an account seems to be case insensitive where it better would be case sensitive with the part before the @.

Did necros send you the file?
I'd like to change the description that's being shown because that's the one for the original mutator, this adapted one spawns subclasses of TSpider that infest the map not pupaes.

If you run a dedicated server with th-spiders, the server console floods with "TICK()" over and over again. I guess he's saying that is gone now when the mut is running.

Nah, spiders everywhere. Big ones, small ones. Spider nests. Works great in Asylum! Just wait for all the guards to die, then try to do the map without dying.

I enjoy it more to play as a guard and try to make the suckers extinct with the help from AIs, firebolts, all the other bolts I packed, mines and speed and health because there's no hiding from them in the dark when you're a guard.
As said 4 eggs and 10 nasties is a great challenge if not a little overkill without a good LO and lucky spawnplaces.
I have yet to manage it.
You can check if there are any spiders left with the 'list' command
but that won't show eggs so new ones can spawn if you didn't take out all eggs, too.

On Flats I once searched for that last 'horrific spider' it turned out that a blob landed in one of the little rooms (near the treasury) that you can't enter but which have small windows on the bottom of the walls in the streets.

Also spiders that are specific to a map like those in Asylum's greenhouse and the doc's study, the vents etc. etc. will also show up when you use the list command so don't be fooled searching for those.

I can see this being used for co-op and Thiefmatch for the extra challange, but not TvG.

Funny because when I thought about porting it I actually intended it to be used in TvG. To spice it up just a little bit and introduce a little more dynamic to the gameplay on the maps.
A small random factor.
With a setting of about 6 eggs and 2 spiders it'd be just right on most maps IMO.

I don't seem to see any settings for it tho, like how many eggs to spawn, and how often a spider comes out. and how much damage or health the spiders do.

I was thinking of modifying it to add a few options:

NumOfEggs=
MinSpawnTime=(make this randomize from min to max)
MaxSpawnTime= (make this randomize from min to max)
SpawnClass= (in case you want to change what actually spawns without making a new mutator. Spawning StoneTitans ftw!)
SpawnDamageAmt= (how much damage they do)
SpawnHealth = (how much damage they can take till death)

Great mut tho beo! lots of fun. And it got quite hard when you thought you closed the door on a spider and he managed to jump through right before it closed and bites your ass off.

i read the readme.. er scanned it.. i see the maxeggs and maxpupae thing.. but I run it from command line batch file, and if there aren't ini settings for it i wouldn't even see them. I guess I could manually add them to the ini, but if they had default props set up they would write to the ini and it would be easier for future runs.

i did.. nothing there.

I ran the server most of the night.. then shut it down later on, expecting it to write to the ini, but it never did. Maybe I have to invoke it through the menu once for it to write to the ini.

just played a game on kams server with it its good to try and kill all the spiders when your playing as a guard - but when i joined on stronghold there where only 2 guard lifes left and no one had joined b4 me didnt stand much of a chance got a fair few of the little b******s tho

Edit
Kam - i like the Dr pepper Potion - its still obvious to a guard when a dr pepper can runs round the room tho - how come you didnt make it for the guards? it wouldnt be that unfair

LOL well.. its not really finished.. i would actually like to make it a stationary potion so that you are a can as long as you don't move. Good for camping .. nuthing like stealing a grail and watching the Dr pepper can pop up and mace you!

Actually i was going to make it into a candle stick that looks like loot so it wont be too weird seeing a Dr P can in plain site and making it obvious that it's a guard or thief sitting there.
