  • Top Down Camera System

    Hi everyone
    I am a university student creating a mod for UT2004 which makes the use of a top down camera system.
    Alien Swarm has just the style of camera view that we were looking for and I just came here to ask: How was it created?
    Everyone in our group are designers, we arn't very good coders any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    You need to make your own Player class and override this function with whatever camera position you want:

    function CalcBehindView(out vector CameraLocation, out rotator CameraRotation, float Dist)

    And set this in the default properties:

    bBehindView=True

    If you haven't done any coding yet, you'll have to search for some unrealscript tutorials. Good luck!

        Thanks for this info guys its appreciated (sorry it took so long to respond)
        We have to use the UDE to implement this code right? We have the mod set up and ready.. once we know where to put this code we can get a working build out the door.
