  • When Release comes around...

Lets plan a game, lets get 8 marines and we'll go co-op when this game comes out... but we need a host XP.

Eh? I think there'll be more servers/players than you can shake a bug at...

Actually, 8 marines really isn't the best number. First, that many marines are hard to coordinate, so accidents are far more likely to happen. And secondly, that means that if a marine dies in campaign mode, one player can't play anymore. In testing we've found that four to six is really the ideal player count.
Nearly all men can stand adversity -- if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.

So if a marine dies, a player can just use another of the marines in reserve?

If a marine dies in a campaign mode mission, the player that was controlling him can use a different marine for future missions in that campaign. Assuming there is a marine available, since there are only eight in the game.

oh thats cool, so if you die you still might have another chance.

Or perhaps there could be some sort of end-user option variable for how many respawns each player gets? That would be good, especially if there are different difficulty levels for the mod, or even just for when playing multiplayer so no one has to sit around if they die.
