But beating the behemoth on insane is the same thing you already have posted up there. Just for a different mission.

I can only guess that what you mean is beating the behemoth on hard or insane. Given its HP it would be (nearly) impossible to kill it with only 4 marines (hence the need to play in MP with more). Am I right?

The user can not use the autogun, p-rifle, a flashlight or flares to claim unassisted kills.
Oh, and only Rifle gets autoaim with flares and flashlight. All other weapons (except autogun/p-rifle) still get unassisted kills.

Oh... and since you got this far:
How to get extra modes: Beat the first mission on insane with all marines surviving. (may be other ways I got all the modes doing this though)
I might as well tell you that you can do these two things separately. All marines surviving on normal difficulty gives you one. Just completing the mission on Insane gives you the other.

And if you look at the unlocked camera angles... I'm sure you can notice something missing?

I'll give you a hint: I believe this one is physically impossible to achieve in single player (well, in-game virtual physics, whatever). You need to get online with friends.

yep i just caught that myself. I did a couple swift mission runs and fixed all the stuff up now. As it was I misread something and all the 'weapon' awards are iron.

FYI: Assisted kills do not mean that some other marine helped you with them.

Assisted kills are those you get with autoaim:
    - Autogun kills
    - Rifle + Flares
    - Rifle + Flashlight
    - Prototype Rifle

And in these cases, if you have the crosshair *exactly* on the bug, when you shoot, it will count as unassisted. After all, the autoaim didn't have to do anything.

NM just went back and got iron dagger and it IS unassisted... so apparently there is no connection unless its a bug(typo).

Ok I just confirmed: iron= pure kills, silver= unassissted kills.

I'm not sure how you accumulate unassissted kills without doing a level solo however, I tried running a two man mission with one nearly half the map ahead and killed a huge spawn, still only ended up with something like 8 unassissted kills.

I know for certain that the Iron Dagger you listed is 25 unassisted kills.

I also know for certain, that it is Iron Hammer for 100 kills in a single mission, not Silver Hammer, since I'm looking at it in-game right now.

The IAF honours you listed are Combat Honours at 100, and Battle Honours at 250. There's another one at 500 or 550 or something, but I got it on my last campaign mission, forgot the name, and can't look at my guys again. It's IAF Destroyer or something, if I had to take a guess.

It appears to me through simply playing that the halos are dependent on damage healed. Obviously, wasting all your medkits on someone who's gotten a scratch isn't going to get any medals, but using it on someone who's hurt bad will. I don't know if it's based on percentage healed out of Possible Healing, or total hit points healed. The latter seems to be true, but would be silly, as only high-level medics would get the Silver Halo, and have the skill point gotten go to waste.

    Nice list though...

Fixed. I would think Silver= overall kills, Iron= unassissted kills then so there may be a few more awards I'm missing. I'm not sure the iron fist/dagger descriptions are correct then.

Those are all Iron, not silver.

    Good work, otherwise.

A tiny guide to medals and such

    <<SPOILER ALERT>>

There are a dozen or so medals, many of which do nothing but accumulate and take up pixels. Some do give a reward which can be used in campaign mode.

Some rewarding medals (note you only get the reward the first time you receive the medal):

    Name: Perfect
    Reward: +1 movement
How to get: marine must not be damaged AT ALL during an entire mission.

Name: IAF Combat Honors (tier 1)
    Reward: +1 accuracy
How to get: marine must kill over 100 bugs in his tour of duty.

    Name: Blood Halo
    Reward: +1 special (medic)
How to get: marine must heal other marines for over 250 health points in a single mission. (?)

    Name: Silver Halo
    Reward: +1 special (medic)
How to get: marine must heal other marines for over 500 health points in a single mission. (?)

    Name: Gunfighter
    Reward: akimbo pistols
How to get: marine must kill 20 aliens with a pistol during a single mission.

    Name: Iron Hammer
    Reward: +1 accuracy
How to get: marine must kill 100 aliens during a single mission.

    Name: Iron Sword
    Reward: +1 accuracy
How to get: marine must get 50 unassisted kills during a single mission.

Other medals that net you no rewards:
Blood Heart: go near death or die during a mission
Iron Fist: 50 kills in a single mission
Iron Dagger: 25 unassisted kills in a single mission
IAF Battle Honors (tier 2): 250 kills in the tour of duty
IAF Destroyer Honors (tier 3): 500 kills in the tour of duty

    Extra modes:
Hardcore- parasites are fatal, no autoaim
Carnage- 1.5-2x monster spawn amount with lower damage/hp
Uber- large, slow, dangerous, fewer monsters

    Extra cameras:
90 degree- rotates your top-down view point 90 degrees clockwise
180 degree- rotates your top-down view point 180 degrees clockwise
270 degree- rotates your top-down view point 270 degrees clockwise

How to get extra modes: To get Hardcore/90, beat any mission on normal (or harder) and have all marines survive. To get Carnage/180, beat any mission on insane. To get Uber/270, beat any mission on normal (or harder) in under x minutes.
The missions vary as per Evilreaver:
    Reactor: 3 mins
    Rescure: 4:50 ?
    Research: ?
    Barracks: 2:30 ?
    Salvage: 6 mins
    Uplink: Geez...

My suggestion is this: Beat reactor on insane without losing any marines to get the first two sets. Then beat it on normal in under three minutes. Should be fairly easy once you learn the levels.

I'm sure this isn't complete, feel free to respond with other medals or fixes.

***NOTE: Unassisted kills mean unassisted by autoaim. The user can not use the autogun, p-rifle, rifle/flashlight or rifle/flares autoaim features to claim unassisted kills. In game display is total kills (assisted kills).
