Don't they show training in SST? And the one guy doesn't wear his helmet and he gets shot in the head? I just thinhk about that for some reason....

Reading this again just gave me a flashback to the Men in Black movie scene where those soldiers and Will Smith are shooting at wooden aliens.

    Wooden Aliens?!

Yeah, cutouts of aliens, but marines too. And you only kill the aliens, sort of teaches people the dangers of different weapons. Take too long to kill an alien and it expires, kill a marine you get a penalty. Like the challenge on TimeSplitters 2 if you've played it.

    Hmm....

I might actually give that a try as I'm a subscribed Transgamer.
Let's hope it dosn't need too much hacking to get it going.

I've heard rumors that UED works in WineX. Have not tried though. Shoot me a PM if you're going to try it and it works.

    Map idea: Training

One map I'd really like to see is a training map.

    ..

No, not a tutorial! That's allready in there!
    Training!

With little wooden aliens that pop up out of little slots in the floor, but don't attack.

    What would be needed:
1 small 3-way intersection (think "ventilation")
1 small 4-way intersection ("ventilation" again)
2 large intersections, one of each as above ("standard hallway")
Lots of doors to weld, computers to hack etc to practice covering the hacker (actually, it's "cracker", but who cares?)

Maybe do it with "alien releasers" like in the tutorial?
Limiting the flow of aliens at the players will is crusial here.
    It's practice, not actual combat.
Just to get the team dynamics going.

Me and some friends are putting together a team for the inevitable team-vs-team mode and we're alot better players than we are mappers.
Please, oh talented mappers, help a guy out!
(either that or point me to a LINUX mapping tool and a tutorial)
Working...
