With the criteria you have set, it is reasonable to heal when they are at 1\2 HP or less.

Now, how much damage could you prevent by taking a better gun?

I'm most familiar with the "Apone Method" of healing. Namely:

      Faith: Medic!

I'll normally heal between 50-70% depending on the map.

i think the real question here is at what point do you cap someone when they are infested =)

Or at what point do you kill them for their own good?

(Yes, death by teammates prevents 'site spawns from the body - don't be afraid to use this if the victim is the worst member on your team (straight 1's) and you don't have many medpacks left!)

Ah...a gentleman's question. I answer: Before they can become a threat, in other words, AT LEVEL START!

If i dont heal u its because u dont call for medic.Medic does have to fend for him or herself while everyone fights the swarm. Its tough to fight and look at the meters at same time. The heartbeat is a good time to heal, usually people will call for medic. Its the best way to alert the med while he or she is fighting off the swarm.
Whose idea makes the best game? The gamers' of course.
                        What is life without games?Pointless.

A good medic heals without being asked.

With a good healer, you don't call the Medic, because you know that he knows your health. Also, I think the best way to thank a medic is not with a Smiley, but by just concentrating on your job and not getting hurt again.

Personally, when I'm medicing I try to keep my ears open. When I hear someone groaning in pain, I check the healthbars. It's sort of a bad habit since in big firefights I might miss a lot of groaning and moaning and forget that someone might still be hurt.
Ah, to be a hero. Keeping such company...
