  • AOEscapeObjective

For some reason, my AOEscapeObjective isn't working- I made a small test map to try it out, and the other objectives trigger fine, but escape won't.

I'm just starting to UnrealEd, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong...

-I place the AOObjective for escape under the MissionInfo.
-I add a ZoneInfo to the exit area, and change its ZoneTag to Exit, just as the info page says. (Build All, then play)
    - After completing the other objectives (In my case, explore and eggs), I move into the alleged escapezone, and nothing happens.

I'm thinking it has to do with how I'm adding the ZoneInfo. The tutorial I found says you just rightclick->add... Or am I on the wrong track entirely? Any pointers?

(Boy am I gonna feel stupid if the answer is a single sentence)
Grunt: How dangerous can parasites be?
Grunt has been infested with a parasite!
Grunt: Oh, I thought I could step on them.

Did you zone your map first, i.e. add a zone portal. You have to section off the entire area, including the area for the camera, using sheets. Then when you click the Zone/Portal icon in the 3D viewport, the exit area should be a different colour. Then you add a ZoneInfo within that zone.

Ah, that worked. I just have a lousy tutorial, is all. Thanks!
