When i try to startup AS I get the following error:

    UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]
OS: Windows NT 6.0 (Build: 6000)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 1663 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (5665)
Failed to enter AlienSwarmStartup.ut2: Can't find file 'AlienSwarmStartup.ut2'
    History: UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free

Using Windows vista, could that be the problem? the file AlienSwarmStartup.ut2 is in the map UT2004\alienswarm\maps

Pretty sure some folks are playing from Vista. The build date suggests that you have the 3369 patch, yes?

Someone will be along to help you shortly.

hmm, that is the menu map that seems to be missing there. the map that is the background of tthe main menu.

you somehow deleted it, maybe? if so, you can get all (5) working menu maps in the menu map thread.

I think he said he checked the directory and it was there.

Make sure you're using all Alien Swarm 1.32 do a full ASw 1.32 download & install, if you haven't.

That error means that either swarm was installed wrong (I'd double check the paths, everything should be in ut2004/alienswarm) or that UT isn't patched.

You didn't happen to patch UT after installing swarm?
It's not my fault everything you like is terrible.

yes I have updated UT2004 after installing and updating AS because it didnt work.
Any way to solve this problem?

Thanks for trying to find a solution.

I think that this issue happens if you try to play without a properly patched UT. (Someone please correct me if that was something else.) To fix it, you'll have to delete the alienswam folder and reinstall.

Also, I believe you may have to run UT2004 first in order to generate some ini files.
