  • It's never coming out...

Just get it. They will never release Alien Swarm: Infested. It's been what. 6 years now?

    ...for nostalgia.
Shiro checking in, keep frequency clear.

I believe his post contains a great quantity of the element known as sarcasmium.
"Spera: Ooh! Ooh! You hear that? A bird singing out amidst our desolation. It's a miracle. The miracle called supper."

hehe. Nah, I just remember these forums plagued by these kinds of threads and thought it'd be funny to relive that, today.

                  Using a CME-M key for simple midi/velocity sensitive midi, a t.c electronics desktop konnekt 6, a PDM-57 microphone.

On the software side, i'm running Cubase but still whip out the good ol' Reason when I feel like making electronica. :-)

heheh, don't you buy all you software stuff? I was tired of using cracked plugins with viruses and bugs, so i decided using freeware stuff only, quality is crap but at least no bugs and viruses , using Reaperv3.6 x64, e-mu trackerPre USB sound card, korg x5d as midi and cheap philips headphones :-(. Trying to save for studio monitors yamahas 150€ each.

damn, i could save alilbit more and buy tc electronics desktop konnekt 6 instead e-mu tracker pre, that thing looks neat! :-/

Well, unless you want to acoustically treat your studio/room, I would go for some good plugins rather than monitors.. they won't give you anything unless you treat your room and place them properly :-)
And yes I do buy my plugins, but I did download the dongle crack for cubase 5 because the dongle is a huge hassle and takes power for it's security cycles or whatnot they call it.

are you making in headphones too? It's still much difference in making music with headphones or boxes, especialy in using reverb, in headphones it sounds fine, in boxes it sounds to much. Imo best way to go is: your ears>studio monitors>good plugins<headphones

I'm using a consumer brand 5.1 by logitech, and it works perfectly considering I don't have any treatment of any kind. You'll need a consumer quality sound system to listen to it anyway in the end, people don't have monitors...
And yeah, I'm using headphones, then monitoring/mixing with 5.1 :-)
(Technically it's only 2.1 but it helps giving a sense of how it'll sound in anyone's system in the end)

What i'm saying is that with an untreated room, your expensive monitors will be of equal or less quality that of a normal price consumer brand, in which I think it's a waste of money...

Read up a bit on acoustics, monitors are very delicate and need to be pointed properly, and surfaces need be treated for them to do what you're paying for :-)

Plenty of famous and professional composers are there, there's lots of good information. So far I know Sam Hulick and Howard Shore post there every now and then, funny as it sounds. And then plenty of less famous, but very talented people

ok thx for the link, gona take a look, i also heard, if you take active monitors, you don't need much of acoustic rebuilding your room, they trow sound waves direct to you, and if you go to side you wont hear much, so no reflecting echoes and stuff will be in your room. Maybe it was not active, don't remember it's name.
