  • World Cup Forum Bookie 2010

Due to popular demand, the most exciting forum gambling experience returns for 2010's World Cup! Special thanks to Butters for running the original thread.

I'll be sticking to Butters' rules from 2006, so those of you who played already know what's going on. Skip down to the odds and get betting!

For everyone else, here's how it works:
    1. Anyone can play. Simply make a bet (up to e$100) and you're in.
    2. Everyone starts with e$100 to bet as they see fit. You'll also be given up to e$50 a day as a loan if you have no money or if you'd like to bet more money than you have. Loans will be deducted from your total as you take them, and paid back as soon as possible.
    3. You are free to make bets on a match from the time the odds are posted until the time the match starts. You're allowed to bet on different outcomes for the same match, or add to earlier bets. Odds will be given in the standard w/b format. There's an excellent explanation in the original thread if you're not clear on how this works.
    4. Don't edit posts that contain a bet. If you'd like to add to an earlier bet, just make a new bet and it will be added. Once a bet is made, it can't be reversed.

That's all there is to it. I'll try to have odds posted in the evening before matches, and will update the standings at least once a day.

We're coming up on the first match of the day, and everyone seems to have a different idea how this one is going to end. The second match, however, seems to be much more clear. The majority of bets are on a France win. Will they pull through?

Machine and Schleicher both have their entire savings riding on today's matches, while sofos is taking a more cautious approach.

If you have a last minute bet, be sure to get it in before kickoff.

South Africa manages to hold on for a draw (or was Mexico the team holding on?) and Fuzzy Bunny is the first gambler to profit in this year's event. Here are the standings going into the second match.

                          Code:
                          Fuzzy Bunny	139.1
                          Sofos 80
                          Killer 60
                          Kangaxx 40
                          Machine 0
                          Schleicher	0
Bets for the second match will be accepted right up until kickoff, around two hours from now.
