  • 1.4 is on its way

We noticed a few critical bugs crept their way into the 1.3 patch, so a small 1.4 patch will be released soon to fix the more serious of these issues. Should hopefully include the following:
    • Fixes misc bugs with the scouting orb.
    • Visibility meter works properly.
    • Floating door handles fixed.
    • KOing an AI doesn't add more than 10 points to score.
    • Infinite flare exploit removed.
    • Invisible stalker exploit removed.

Joel has also made a bunch of changes to the AI. I'll leave it up to him to post those.

1.4 isn't adding huge gameplay features like the other patches -- It's a bug fixer.

      • Bots can no longer open locked doors they do not have a key for
      • Bots try to pick alternate paths when they encounter locked doors
      • New Investigation code - thieves should be less magnetic to bots now
      • 1-hit death for unaware bots reimplemented (whoops)
      • Bots light flares and investigate if they see a teammate die in shadows
      • Fixed that error that caused lots and lots and lots (and lots) of crashes
      • Slightly tweaked bot skill settings when combined with server skill settin
      • Bots can now use doors that need buttons pressed to be opened - note that the bot uses telekenesis to press the buttons, so don't be alarmed if it looks like they're cheating
      • Bot sight range limit when seeing doused torches raised from 512 to 768
      • Bots can fall off ledges when cracked or blinded
      • Bots are now less firebolt-happy
      • Bots are less accurate when tagging hidden snipers
      • Fixed bug that caused bots to think they were being sniped when they weren't
      • Accuracy when shooting hidden thieves increased a bit.
      • Lessened CPU usage of TSuspiciousThings
      • Fixed a bug with blood splats counting as pools when they weren't
      • Bots will investigate blood marks
      • Added a new type of TPatrolPoint that lets mappers split routes

Will 1.4 include the changes in 1.3, or is it being essentially added to the chain of patches necessary for a full install of Thievery?

How does this work when the button isn't located close to the door? Ideally the bot could only use his mind to push it if it was withing a meter or so. I'm not sure if any maps have doors controlled by remote buttons -- although perhaps the Study on Asylum -- but that could be a potential nasty bug. Apologies if you saw that, just trying to avoid another buggy path.

Glad you guys decided this was needed.

Chances are you'll need to download 1.3 with it...

                              1.4 isn't big anyway.
