    I use head-phones most of the time, and I can usually listen for a thief when cracked or blinded and still manage to kill him, just by following the sound of his footsteps.

    Just got the Hercules Game Theater XP sound card. I hear in total 3D suround. It's especially noticable when I'm running from a guard and he's yelling at me . I only hear his yelling in the rear speakers. Haven't found it especially useful tracking thieves or pinpointing guards yet. Maybe it's me, maybe the Unreal Tournament engine is weak in this area. Surround is much more defined in UT2003.

    I play with headphones, i think this gives the best ability to track thieves. but its either footsteps in left ear (turn left) footsteps in right ear (turn right) oh forget it, he was behind me

    This is just as important as having the right gamma settings!

    Just been tweaking with the audio options and wondered whats the best set up.



    Ive turned the music volume right down to nought and the sound volume right up. The environmental sound is cool but now alll i hear is noise of other players, maybe i can now hear a Thief on the roof of the Church when im in the Rectory!

    Also the 3D sound option, ive only just turned this on and my card supports it. Havnt noticed any difference yet, is it implemented in TUT or just been left from UT.
    Its frustrating when u hear but cant pinpoint the enemy.

    Also 16 or 32 bit, do thieves show up better in one or the other?
