1: Bigger size means more kb. Which means longer load time.
2: This size looks good. Not anoying, nothing.
3: I don't like big images.

No, I like them at 64, even running 1152 x 864.
BU is covered in massive sigs and 100 x 100 avatars. Egocentric doofuses take up most of the screen with sigs I can hardly stomach, and I think anything bigger than 64 for an avatar is excessive - it starts to get really ugly for 800 x 600 people then.Comment

the avatar sizes are just right, ppl will start to abuse them even moreso if the size was whatever you wanted, not to mention the loading times

On my forums, the avatar size is 75x100, and it works fine. You can actually tell what an avatar is supposed to be, for example.
