  • TUT comics!!1! Story #1

“Ok, listen up guys…the new guy in town, Gerome or whatever wants to hire us,” shouted Captain Crunx.

We were a crack team of guards, traveling from place to place killing thieves and making money on guard duty. Yea, crack team, you know…like, we were good. Well, ok, for some of us that could be read another way. Right now, we were headed to Gerome’s new place. We figured we’d go, he’d sign us up, and we’d rake in some easy cash.

The troop of us walked up the front door, and rang the doorbell. Yeah, not only did this guy have a doorbell, but also a whole alarm system. We were impressed. Most of us were, at least. Cosgrove was drunk, so he didn’t count. After a few minutes a man answered the door with a half burned pot holder, and singed hair.

“Greetings,” he said, shakily, “My name is Kevel…I suppose you are the guards my master sent for?"”

“That is correct!” yelled Crunx. Kevel hit the deck.

Another man came out of the house, and called to us, “Hey! What do you mean by scaring my servant?!” He shouted at Kevel to get back to cooking. Kevel scrambled half crawling back to the kitchen. “That’s my job” said the new fellow. We soon learned he was Lord Gerome.

“Well, who are you, what do you want?” Asked Gerome.

“We’re guards, we’re drunk, and we want money…go’dan…go’ddann taffer,” said Cosgrove. We were all glad he was drunk enough to be honest, otherwise we’d never get anywhere.

“Well ok then, same deal pay as anywhere else, ” Same pay meant, of course, 800 gold up front, and 100 per thief, 25 per torch lit, and various other small print stuff. "Comeon in and look around…Ill be in my room if you need me."

“How do you know you’ll be in your room?” I asked. It may seem like a dumb question, but it was good to know these things. Still it was a dumb question.

“Well, what else do you suggest I do? Sit out somewhere where a thief can get me? I shouldn’t even be out here now. Out of my way…I must get back to my room!! Augh!”

This was common behavior for Lords. Its like they’re security blanket…except it’s a room.

We looked around, found keys conveniently lying around for the thieves to get. We found some evidence against Gerome in the library. Being good loyal guards, even though all we really knew about this Gerome was the evidence(which wasn’t good) we decided to guard it. That’s what good guards do. The_Judge put up some traps, and declared, “Any thief who thus passes through thither doors, will be trialed and sentenced to smittening.”

We all nodded our agreement, and left The_Judge to set up his makeshift courtroom. He always said the caltrops were the witness stand, and I decided from then on that “I didn’t see a THING.”

Master-Builder discovered a room full of crates, much to our joy. He performed many tricks for us. He juggled 3 small crates while standing on a big one. He stacked crates. He built crate forts. And then, our favorite, he performed the “disappearing crate trick!” He did this with the supply chest once, and when we asked him to pull it out of his sleeve, he just laughed and told us to start digging. We found it 15 feet under the ground. I have no idea how he does it.

Most of the guys just started walking around aimlessly. Crunx went and hid somewhere and wasn’t seen again the whole time that we worked with Gerome. I suspect he changed his name to Knecht, but I have no proof.

And that’s how we got our job with Gerome.

NOTHING IN THESE STORIES NECCESSARILY HAPPENED AND PROBABLY HAS NOT. NOT NECCESSARILY REPRESENTATIVE OF PLAYERS MENTIONED, EITHER.

But still, if you're going to get down to details like that the story won't flow for you well.

Basically, what i'm going to do, is have ALL the guards known (or a good number) be part of the TUT universe (maps) as a whole. So expect much mix&matching.

Cool. Can't wait to read the S&M scene with Lady Blackwell in the bondage dungeons of Breakout.

You're fired. Clean out your desk. Security will "escort" you (read: Drag kicking and screaming) to the door.

                Hi!
                The only constant is change.
(And I wouldn't have it any other way.)

Where am I in this story?!

And it shouldn't be 800 up front, it should be equipment paid for, and then real payment is 100 per thief killed, 25 per torch lit (and Gerome goes broke in seconds), etc. etc.

Can't wait for the next exciting episode.
Will the thieves (when they make their appearance) be members of the community as well?
