What exactly is spawn rape?

From what i know, its when a guard invades a spawn area killing people who are spawning/just spawned.

Aggamemnon{CTG} spawn raped 3 times on Mog's, i was spawning so he fires a tag at me and runs towards me. Then he reckons that isn't spawn raping.

He did it again, and another time to shadow-rodent, he still claims thats not what spawn rape is.

Can anyone tell me what it REALLY is then?

and if this isnt what it is, Aggamemnon really should be banned for doing this. We wasted most of our lives through him doing that.

That's correct - when someone waits in a spawn area and kills players as they spawn.

It occured on DE.

Although, my recollection is somewhat different.
I had just spawned, and was opening the east gate, to be confronted by a caltrop slinging, flame tagging agga. Although, a brilliant move, I think It was somewhat lame. I think it would be best to leave this thread alone. All's forgiven and forgotten, for me at least. Hopefully, next patch will solve this problem.

On mogs on the map DE. since for one i ALWAYS rush in that gate as thief and two SR asked to DM the map from his fellow taffer (kamui aka nuclear) i headed out there slung the gate open and tagged the thief who was running into the door, he dove in water to douse the TAG, i NEVER EVER carry flamebolts.
So obviously kamui was still spawning but i only seen one thief ... then SR tried it again i tag him AGAIN, and throw cal in the doorway.
So i leave it an dgo inside to wait behind the door, bext i hear a thief draw a swords and step on my cals so i rushed out and slaughtered him. Nuff said.
They proceeded to get pasted by the ai myself and teeJay.

I dont believe in spawn rape btw, since as a thief im capable of escaping my spawn, and or guards wanting to kill me.
Take flats for example, loot is gained but a thief dies and spawns in, if it was me i would be expecting guards there, if it was kamui he would cry

That's totally not what happened. Shadow rat was spawning, YOU opened the door. Shadow rat spawned and ran. I was still spawning and you shot a tag at me. So I quickly grabbed a loadout and ran for it. I jumped over the fence into the water because I had nowhere else to go.

That's totally not what happened. Shadow rat was spawning, YOU opened the door. Shadow rat spawned and ran. I was still spawning and you shot a tag at me. So I quickly grabbed a loadout and ran for it. I jumped over the fence into the water because I had nowhere else to go.

You are invincible when buying. Even if he shot a tag at you while you were buying your loadout, he could not have maced you.

agg, just for the fact you were standing in the spawn area waiting for a thief and later actualy harm him, i call it spawn rape.

I had some really lame Guards all trying to spawn rape me as I was buying my loadout once,3 of them were all slashing and hitting me with their maces and I said "Look-I'm not going to spawn until you go away and stop spawn-raping"(They'd already spawn-raped 3 thieves already).

2 of them eventually moved off-but not before I'd had a mine placed at my feet with a load of calops each side and a mace-weilding Guard still in wait by my side.

So how exactly are you supposed to escape from the spawn area in a situation like this?

5 minutes later,as they were still trying to spawn-rape me,I told them just how lame they all were and I left the server and the game Thievery to go off and play another game instead...

A few of the dead thieves were waffling about "getting an admin" whilst it was going on,but what's the point?I can't be arsed chasing all that up when the whole situation can just relocate to another Thievery server anyhow.

If people want to play so lamely-let them.

They don't need me there and I'd rather go off and enjoy myself playing some other game than be fussed with it.

My $0.02:

I DE specifically I draw the line at the east door. I'll wait for you by the door but typically will not go through the door. Thieves on the other side of that door have a water entrance and serveral wall entrances they are able to use so I'm only blocking 1 of maybe a dozen entrances.

When it comes to the dungeon I can see going to the bottom of the stairs but beyond that... actually being in the cells is lame beyond belief.

Exceptions to those would be a thief I encountered elsewhere on the map who runs to those locations. I'll then follow that dood anywhere.

On DE, escaping spawnrape is ridiculously easy. The entire area, save for a couple of streetlamps, is completely dark. I've guarded the door entrance many a time, and often been razzed for it. Going out onto the bridge is almost certain death for a guard if the thieves know what they are doing. I wasn't there, and I'm not saying I know what happened. However, I always spawn in streets, so I draw the line at the guards crossing the bridge. If you get tagged/attacked while spawning, please tell the guard, and do not spawn. Most will apologize and leave the area. If they don't, write down their name and complain to an admin.

And Agg-If you did tag NP as he was spawning, that is simply uncool. Especially to a new member of our ever-too-slowly-growing community. I think he deserves an apology, even if it was a mistake.
