If you really want it larger then set your desktop to 640x480.

You need a program to convert it to jpeg. I use adobe. Not everyone has adobe so, just use your paint program that windows has, mine is under accessories. Open your image, go to file, save as jpeg, rename it if you want to.

Then you will need someone to host your new avatar.

I have tried to put one on but I never could get it to work. The message I got was that it was too big but I resized it several times, the properties said it was within the required size parameters but still it would not be accepted. I just gave up and remain avatarless.

64x64 should be more than enough for an avatar. Remember, it takes up bandwidth too, and causes the thread to display slower on bad connections. I think the forums are set up to ignore avatars with a data-size larger than xx kB's.

If you want to use a bigger image as your avatar, resize it to 64x64px with a photo/image editing program.

I am so glad this forum doesn't have 300x300 avatars and 800x300 signatures.

Nanaki, Microsoft Paint (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint) will save bitmaps as JPEG. Look a little. Keep it to 64x64 and under 10kB, please. Welcome to our forums!
