Although I suspect this is true of all compression programs, Winzip can do that. The technical term is "spanning" I believe.
Give some taffer fire, and you'll keep him warm for the night with one less reason to cause trouble for the master.
Set a taffer on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life, and have no need to bother the master.

Just use winrar to make an archive that's split to 1.44 floppy size pieces. Make it self extracting if you want.

If you have winzip installed, follow these steps:
              1. Make a zip file of the file you want to span
              2. Right click --> select 'create self extractor .exe'
3 Check the "Safe Spanning" checkbox, and follow the instructions to copy the file to the disk.
It's not my fault everything you like is terrible.

Lay the file out on a table. Get a ruler. Cut into 3.5" sections....

Winrar's the best. For everything. If you don't have it, get it. Or else. I'm warning you. Really. I really am. Get it. Now. Like I said, or else. You don't wanna know what "else" is. Seriously. It's bad. Really bad.
                    The only constant is change.
(And I wouldn't have it any other way.)

                        thx guys.

Hannu, i'll try your programm. The thing is, it has to be compatible for win 3.1 or DOS.

                        In the mean while,

                        i really appreciate!

well come to think of it. The last time I needed to split a file was BECAUSE of Win 3.1 so im sure it will be ok. if not then serach around for more dos based or win16 filesplitters

                              DOS or Win 3.1?

Again I point you to WinRAR. Get the DOS/OS2 version.
