  • TeeJay's ThiefWatch(tm) Price Search Engine

Okay, it's not really a search engine, merely the fruits of my research on the lowest prices available online for Thief: Deadly Shadows. These are prices for the PC version only. You will have to consult the sites to see whether they ship outside the United States. Local sales taxes (if applicable) are not included. Please post corrections or other deals as you see fit. I am not affiliated with any of the companies below; I just like a bargain! Bear in mind that the "free" shipping offered by some retailers may take a while, although in my experience Amazon.com packages usually arrive sooner than promised. Of course, if you want to have your hands on a copy of Thief on the release date, your best bet is to go to a physical store.

GoGamer.com ($34.90; no free shipping option)

Amazon.com ($39.99; free shipping option) (The price increased from 34.99 to 39.99, and the page now says the item "usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks)

Best Buy ($39.99; free shipping option):

GameStop ($39.99; free shipping option with coupon code 3DAYSHIP)

EBGames ($39.99; no free shipping option)

Canadians buy from the US ebgames, unless it's been changed recently.

Id recommend Gameware.at for everybody living in good ol Germany and impatient to wait for the localized Version. US import is at reasonable 55 Euros, and the stuff usually just takes 2 days delivery time - means having Thief 3 a good two weeks earlier (its the US CD Version instead of European DVD though)

Thanks for the info, TJ. But I already put $5 down to reserve a copy at GameStop. $40. I was actually expecting it to be $50 (which coincidentally is the XBox price, for some reason).

By the way, Walmart usually has games $4-6 cheaper than everyone else, but for some reason with Thief 3, they're only carrying the XBox version.

Hey, anyone buying the XBox version? Fess up now and prepare to be circlestrafed!

Hmmm. Interesting post about the eBay auctions, Grey Fox. The seller, 411maniafreek, just became an eBay member in April 2004. He has 100 percent positive feedback, but it's all been posted in the last few days, and all by members who themselves just joined up in April or May. Furthermore, most of the buyers posting feedback on 411maniafreek have no feedback of their own. I am tempted but wary.

Visit the Amazon.com page (link in my first post) and see reviews of the game from someone calling himself "Dalai" and someone who may be our old "friend" Hardee!

I doubt that really is Dalai. How can he have played a game that isn't out yet?

I bet that review is a bogus review written by Hardee himself.

Yeah, I think that was noticed on TTLG - he used Dalai's name because he's a shit-stirrer.

I would not be surprised if some people were able to get their hands on copies early. Yes, "Dalai" could be Hardee again or someone else who is familiar with Thievery. I noticed that Hardee posted his negative review twice, so he really seems to be gunning for Thief: Deadly Shadows.
