Question about Spamming

I know when I use more than 2 firebolts I get accused of spamming. There can really be no doubt it IS spamming so the accusations aren't out of line.

My question is this: When a thief strafes me and tries to hit me 3-4 times in a row with the BJ is he "BJ spamming"?

Spam is much harder to define in Thievery than in any first person shooter...
As guards often shoot at thieves they can't see , we can't call aimless firing spam...
Firespamming is the overuse of the firebolts. That is , firespammers use the firebolts like the UT rocket launcher , much the same way noob DM thieves think BJs and swords are impact hammers or chainsaws.
It has nothing to do with normal Thievery gameplay.[/i]

I don't know that I'd even call overuse of firebolts spam... If a guard uses 5 firebolts to get a single thief then that's a pretty costly use of resources to take one enemy life (depending on map/available theif lives). It will often do substantial damage to one or more guards in the process. Go for it

i don;t think there is any firebolt spamming.

i for one only usee one per encounter (mainly as a splash tag bolt) but een if tehy use all their bolts, that is not spam. why do you ask, because that just means they used all their ammo at once. do we call people who have to use multiple speed potions to escape speed spammers? same deal with flashbombs. it just means they are not as competent, and as such used more resources.

I stopped paying attention to cries of "Firespammer!" after being called one by a thief I shot ONE firebolt at.

There are some thieves who just don't like firebolts, and if you use even one, you are a "firespammer whore". These thieves are the reason I still have a firebolt loadout - firebolts work even better when they have a psychological effect in addition to their tag/damage effects!

It is true too that there are guards that run into 3 thieves charging like a raging bull , get ko'ed and complain about dm'ers... :lol:
