If you discover a cure for cancer and stick "Do you like my cure? 1) yes 2) no 3) i have no dick." at the end, it'll get shut right down.

What Thwark means, is that he hates "meaning less" polls, like "Did you miss me?" and that kind of stuff. What I guess he wants, is to get people aware of what to turn into a poll, and what to not turn into a poll. If you'd like to ask the forum-users: "Do you like Thievery 1.3 better than 1.2?" etc, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

So grow up people, I know you can think for yourself what needs a poll, and what doesn't. The point is to keep this forum somewhat cleen of nonesence and bullshit.

Why is this even such an issue that a whole thread has to be made over it? Who CARES if people start idiotic pjolls or not? They don't take up huge amounts of forum server resources or anything.

because it's stupid attention whoring, and it's annoying, not just to me, but to many people, apparently, given the "results" of some of these things.

it's not a waste of bandwidth, but it DEFINITELY is a waste of time. It's a form of spam.

this IS the general discussions forum. as in Discussions. it also says "spammers will be circlestrafe blackjacked" - however serious that is, making a pointless poll is STILL spam, and as such is still against the rules.
