There seems to be one or two idiots out there working mischief by using other people's names in game. Before reputations are ruined and alot of pOOpie gets stirred up I thought I'd lay out a small plan for dealing with it:

1) If somebody acts particularly grief like in game and they've not acted that way before then they are either having a bad day or it's an imposter. Don't end friendships, call names, or have an aneurism. Call a kickvote OR ignore them.

2) Later contact that person by email or even post a message here if it was really bad. Simply asking the person would go a long ways towards clearing some of this stuff up.

It's likely a lame attempt at "raging" which is kinda sad since all it really is nothing more than a mild inconvenience akin to letting the air out of somebody's tire or egging their house.

Ok, this may sound idiotic, but I'm sure other poeple are wondering too.

What has hardee and his cocksucker friends got agianst us? Are his actions purely unmotivated? WHY are the raging? what do they gain?

I'm sorry if this is obvious and has been mentioned before, but I can't see how we, such a small comuinity of poeple have been targeted, surely they would go for something with a bigger base?

They are just stupid. They post at their website, and say that the TUT-community was raged, that we are afraid of them, and that they are ruining the game-play for us.

Actually, that's just BULLSHIT. Cause we all know how to get rid of a lamer/cheater pretty fast. One ban at a server for doing something very serious = ban at multiple public servers.

And someone (not from our community I think) reports Hardee's website to the hosters everytime something new pops up, and the pages are deleted instantly.

Point is, THEY are the ones being raged.

The IP's CAN change, and do every time you connect, if you're on dialup. Good idea, you're thinking, but not a very effective method in the long run. It's partly for this reason that we've set up a server admin's forum at Crackaz, so information can shared privately among server admins.

Several things here. First, Thievery is a HEAVILY modified version of the Unreal engine. With all due respect to the devs, it's impossible to keep big glitches out of the coding when it undergoes the extensive modification it has to produce Thievery. The devs have done a great job, and continue to eliminate the bugs in the game, but in the meantime, because of the exploits there and the fact that the unique gameplay itself is subject to exploitation, Thievery is a target for ragers.

A "Hardee-specific" issue, however, I might be to blame for, inadvertently. See, he used to have this "secret" website, only several people got a hold of it. I was one of those people. After some time, his hoster, Brinkster, took his site down. He blames me for that, although I had nothing to do with it. Personally, I'd have preferred it had stayed up, as he did a better job of finding and documenting the exploits in the game than the devs did, and this was helping them eliminate them, as well as helping server admins guard against them. But he was taken down, and he blames me, so he keeps coming back here, presumably to get at me and the other people who've helped keep him nothing more than a minor annoyance.

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again invite all the Theivery server admins who have not registered at Crackaz and gotten access to the private admin's forum there, to do so and ask for acces to that forum, so we can help keep these people out of ALL of our servers.
