Whats the deal with GreatSnafu?

I don't mean to be ignorant or rude, but it seems that everyone talks like GreatSnafu is the best player in the game.

I only played with him once, but I don't see it. I smashed him so bad it wasn't even funny. Can someone please explain? :|

There is a SNAFU and a GreatSnafu.

GreatSnafu gets a lot of press-visibility since
(a) he's very friendly to newbies
(b) he's one of the better players
(c) since he has Great in his name then when he messes up people can poke fun at him as if he doesn't ever mess up

Sort of like the Far Side cartoon where the soldier's wife is telling him, "And I'm tried of people calling you 'Alexander the Pretty Good'!" :grin:

Greatsnafu is one of the best guards there is.
He's pretty good at thieving, too.

Of course he's not infallible - nobody is.

GreatSnafu is an awesome player. For a little while, whenever he would be in the same server as me, I would just spec him a whole game, learning how to play and learning routes and such (I know all your secrets GS! Mwuahahah! :twisted: Not really tho ) But yeah, he's a great player, be it guarding or thieveing. Great attitude and even better skill.

One of the great things about him too, is that he'll just seem like an average player for a whole game, then, all of a sudden, he'll do something and everyone will be like, "WTF!," "Awesome!" or "OMFG! What just happened?"

In conclusion, GS r0x0rs!

I played a few maps with GS tonight (some great teamwork games tonight!) and I think he's just great at thinking on his feet - adapting to what happens more than sticking to a formula. So if he's escaping as a thief let's say, he'd find some nice twist to the escape that will just baffle the guards whereas many thieves would do something predictable (incl me). There are plenty of other great players though.

All I can say is that he is so good I find myself trying to avoid being on the opposing team when he is playing (hee-hee)!
