    This is the exact same error i got on my 2½ year old pc... Only they have nothing in common cept for the UT disc.

    What could be wrong? This is an original UT G.O.T.Y cd, and the cd doesnt appear to have a single scratch.

    Note, i got this error after a clean install of UT and this error is when i run UT, altough i get a similar message when starting Thievery.

    The really weird part is that i can start the game by adding a map name to the commandline when i start it, altough it behaves very weird ingame. The brightness is set to max when i get in, and it takes a screenshot everytime it's loading...

    Of course i can still play, but it's bloody annoying... Any ideas?

    Edit:
    Here's my new and old specs:
    Old:
    P3 800mhz
    128mb Sdram
    Soundblaster Live value
    Geforce 256 sdr
    And bla bla...

    New one:
    P4 2.4b ghz @2.53ghz
    512 ddr400 ram
    Ati Radeon 9700pro
    Audigy 2
    Soltek mainboard.

    More Edit:
    Come to think of it, the only thing i moved was my logitech wireless keyboard... And the problem started back when i got it... Guess im going to have to try that out.
    But a keyboard being able to screw up a game?! Weird...
    Damn you Logitech

    personally, I would try d/ling a copy of UT from some sharing program and trying that one. I mean, it's not like you DON'T own the program, right?

      Maybe if you go to Logitech's website they'll have some driver updates that might fix it.

        I suppose you could try to re-patch it to 436...

                  question: How can a keyboard screw up the game?
                  answer: poorly written driver.

                  The game has to get input from the keyboard, and it does this via the driver. (perhaps the game gets it from DirectX, but DX gets it from the driver)

                  Error messages in Unreal games seem to be in reverse order - look at the last 4 lines of your log before the "Exit:" lines.

                  [code:1:7de402242a]Critical: UInput::ResetInput
                  Critical: UInput::Init
                  Critical: UGameEngine::Init
                  Critical: InitEngine
                  [/code:1:7de402242a]

                  These run bottom-up (the reverse-order thing). As you can see, the error occurred in a method called "UInput::ResetInput". And your keyboard (driver) has very much to do with input. You should go to the Logitech site, as suggested above, and get the latest driver.

                        If you need more than that, get a USB hub.

                          One reason I really like Apple keyboards is the built-in USB hub.

                            Oh, first the comment about clockspeed not being everything, then bring up the Apple keyboards! Sounds like SOMEONE is trying to talk up Macs again!
