  • Greek philosophy: My mind can't get more twisted...

In example: You can never really exit a room.

You start walking towards the door.

You come halfway. You don't stop, keep walking.

Then halfway again, again and again etc...

You can't exit the bloody room!

    A paradox.

    It's impossible.

So, if you go out of the room, this should mean that you have broken this law in theory, meaning that you're standing in nothing. Nothing can stand in nothing, therefor you don't exist.

Now that this is on my mind, you'll find that I'm more twisted than usually.

But what you are saying is that your speed is decreasing as you walk across the room, until you end up standing infront of the door

You'll never get anywhere if you slow down to a halt

No. You have the same speed. YOU CAN'T EXIT THE ROOM! It's impossible!

This was a paradox for the ancient Greeks. We, however, have calculus, the mathematics of the infinitesimal, so it's not a problem for us.

            I don't see the problem.
We simply walk beyond the half.

              Example, oh smart one?

Oh, and I know you'll use some source, but I don't know what calculus even is, so whatever.
              The only constant is change.
(And I wouldn't have it any other way.)

In short, calculus is a mathematical method of adding up an infinite number of infinitesimal quantities.

                  Walk outside.

Perfect solution for everything. Just walking outside.

You might get more social contact when walking outside.

For me, besides sleeping 4 hours a day and sometimes going for 3 or so hour to my girlfriend I sit in front of my computer. Playing Thievery and the likes. Yes I have work. But that's a computer job too and it's not so busy now, so I get to do whatever I want. (Of course I am not allowed to play games.)
Am I an addict? I think so.
                    Do I care? No.

It's true what he says, If you go to the door, halfway eachtime. You'll never exit.

Let's say between you and the door are 12 steps.

halfway to the door = 6 steps to the door.
Again halfway = 3 steps to the door.
again = 1.5 steps to the door
again = 0.75 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.375 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.1875 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.09375 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.046875 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.0234375 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.01171875 steps to the door
                      " " = 0.005859375 steps to the door
                      etc.
