Err... can't tell. That would ruin my career as a guard.

Why won't you see for yourself?

I take off my clothes, lie on my front and then poo as much as I can. Twice.

I'm not SURE he's there right? I'm going to assume I heard/think I saw something, and not the mysterious powers of 'the force' that many players I taff against seem to have:

If its not too large of an area, I shadowslash it, then flare it up. If its a rather large area, I throw some flares in, but generally don't run into the area. Oh, and if I have my firebolt loadout set, and its a small area, its getting lit up.

When I know there is a thief nearby, I will call for help.

Poll editing got a lot trickier with that last upgrade that was installed. Before you could edit your polls every minute, or change the question altogether. Sadly, no more. You need to make your poll right the first time, and don't come back to edit your post. Else all may be lost...

What could possibly be wrong by knowing how many flare scanners are in TUT?

You can MAKE a new poll for this thread, you just gotta trash the old one. Edit your post - then veiw it. Poll is gone. Not really. Hit edit again, hit 'delete poll', NOW poll is gone. Make a new poll.

When witnessing close suspicious events , I try to restrain the hazardous area as low and secure as possible , using tag bolts on critical points just in case. When I have an obvious evidence a thief is here I close doors and start tossing flares to carefully reveal the shadows (toss one flare toss an other one take the first one and toss it further ect) until I find him or run out of flares... In both cases I call for backup , toss caltrops if I have some remaining , when it's a possible obj carrier I slash walls to alert as many nearby guards as possible. I cross the shadows line easier if teammates are here.

When the shadow patches are shallow , thin , or plain small , I don't shadowslash but instead "shadowbump" - with my sword/mace charged , I slide on the walls and release my mouse button as soon as I'm blocked in an unusual way. Much more effective than shadowslashing , and somewhat more fair to the thieves.

Step 1: Ensure that back is against a suitable hard surface, such as a wall or a fellow guard.

                          Step 2: Light flare.

Step 3: Illuminate thief, drop flare, frantically pull out sword and start hacking away.

Step 4: Chase thief while hacking at his back until he dies.

                          or

                          Step 1: Light flare.

Step 2: Cack pants at the sight of several thieves.

Step 3: Run squealing like a girl.
