  • Kill / Loot / Anything Logging

Hopefully somebody can help me out on this shit.

I have recently been thinking about creating a program that logs you kills / loot / stealth etc..... but where or ARE these things availble?

Are they stored anywhere in the INI files or in log files anywhere?? I don't know if anyone other than the devs will know this.

If Kills etc.. ARE logged how would people feel about me creating a program that logged these things and showed you your performance graph over time? (not like the CSports ones which are WAY inaccurate)

The program could show statistics, graphs or anything really! I may incorprate some HTML like the original UT logging system.

The program would be client side so no server badwidth would be needed.

Don't know where the files are but the idea rocks. Maybe the program could be used on a server too. That way that server could keep a ladder for itself. That way everyone would realy know I'm the best player.

We don't need statistics to see that you are the best guard  We already know it! cheers

In addition, it could keep track of how many thief/guard wins there are, and on what map. This would help us see better if thieves are too powerful, or if a particular map is unballanced.

But yeah, where is this information stored?

I was thinking of doing something similar. I didn't get very far, but maybe this will help. All I found was a client-side UT mod that will log chat and kills. Unfortunately, the "Mod" menu item is disabled in Thievery, and so I couldn't get this thing working.

But its existence seems to indicate that in order to have any sort of logging, you need to write a mod for it. And then you need to get Dalai to re-enable the Mod menu item, so you can actually turn on your logger. Of course, he probably had a good reason for disabling the Mod menu...

              Hmmm your probably right...

...if I could take information directly from the console AS the program was running I could log how many kills you achieved, as well as WHO you've killed, which could be fun! I could also make a log for who's killed you the most....

I need to get in touch wil dalai really dont i?! :?

Keeping track of stats is fine, if you're the kind of person for whom stats are important. However, keeping track of how many times you've killed whom, and how many times each person has killed you is probably a bad idea, rife with all kinds of possibilities of ill-will and resentment.

I know, but these are only for personal use really, and who you've been killed from the most really kinda depends who you play with most of the time. How many people would agree with LaughingRats statement? If its a majority then I'll not create the program.

I'm really not concerned who kills me the most. Although if I knew that I could setup my training to specifically counter that person's skill/play style.

I would really like this program. Then I would not have to scratch off people when I kill them. I would also not need to keep track of how many thieves I've kill each day. Which is only important to the RLF.

Ok, I'll start a poll in the General discussion forum, if many people vote OK then I will make it at some point!

No thanks. I don't want Dalai as my bride, no matter how nice an ass he has.
