Ever since I reinstalled today, I've had some issues with the sound. The flare lighting sound is very low quality, and when a fire arrow explodes it makes a farting sound (I'm serious.) Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Directsound is disabled by default. Re-enable Directsound and see if it helps (open ThAux.ini and change the line UseDirectsound=False to True). No Linux, No Choice.

In the sound options, have you selected "Use Hardware Sound" and/or "Use Surround Sound"? On only one of my two WinME systems, selecting "Use Hardware Sound" causes odd sound behavior (both have SBLive sound cards using the same drivers). De-selecting "Use Hardware Sound" fixed the problems and I haven't noticed any reduction in sound quality (you have to restart Thievery for the change to take effect). No Linux, No Choice.

OK, this might be of no use but...
On my PC I have an AC'97 sound card that makes all the sounds go awful (fart sounding explosions apply there too) but if I go into sound options and change the sound card to "Game compatible device" EVRYTHING sound-related is fixed.
Hope that's of some help

Perhaps others seeking advice about odd sound probs will now be gifted with my great advice...
Or maybe I should stick to "helping" in more recent forums.
Anyway, if you were falling off a massive building and help didn't comefor three months you wouldn't complain... oh wait... that would be because... ahYou ain't seen me, right!?
