  • Alpha Release - 2008/03/02

    We've just released our first alpha. This is strictly a work in progress - we make no guarantees about the playability of the release, and we know there are a large number of bugs and missing features. Details on the release can be found on Nightblade's Testing Page.

    Some of the notable features of the current alpha are:
    - Gullonefox's guard model.
    - Converted Darkened Enlightenment
    - Experimental silent but slowed opening of doors when walking or crouching.
    - Some experimental gameplay changes, including the stashing of loot by entering the exit zones.

    It should be noted that the first time you play each map there will be a long load time as UT3 generates texture information and caches it.

        just out of curiosity, how long should the loading time be...

        (started instant action ThieveryUT3 on Darkened_Enlightenment and killed UT3.exe after it was sat at the Loading screen for 5 minutes)

            For me it takes 4 or 5 minutes for the initial load, and my computer is pretty new. We're still looking into whether there is anything that we can do to include the cached textures that won't conflict with other mods and maps.

            Anyway, just sit tight and it will finish loading eventually.

                Got patch 1.2? Did the same to me on 1.1. Downloading 1.2 now.

                        Necros didn't crash though, he closed UT3.

                        But yes, make sure you have patch 1.2. I know that Nightblade won't run under 1.1, and the current version was built under the 1.2 patch. Future releases will most likely make use of features provided in patch 1.2 at any rate.

                              The BJ should work... but not on alerted AIs. And the AI is somewhat buggy at the moment.

                              The BJ also occasionally gets stuck in the charged position.
