  • Theoretically speaking (to pass the time)

Imagine a huge thief style city, and that Indus is very drunk!

If you had (example:40) x amount of servers set up to run one map each constantly, and ut3’s engine can load the next map and you travel through via portal as its pre loaded, and lets say to that map you travel too could be a seem less server switch, you could virtually have an entire community taff’n in one game world, if they each hosted part of a map/game. Or am I having a wet day dream?
Trying to make that coherent rather than all out WAR! Would take more energy than I have right now but I’m curious what you the community thinking theoretically would do to make that happen if it were actually possible, what would you call the game type "tvsg24/7/365mmorpg"

I keep thinking NB’s going to be bigger than I can imagine, nice idea though isn’t it. I can imagine the Mockers running to parts of the HUGE map hosted in Australia lawl, & the Europeans avoiding usa hosted map areas ahaha.

As long as the player amount never rose to over 32 then your theory sounds correct according to all the data available on streaming.

*Chases Chief around the thread, pants down and foaming at the mouth*

I'm thinking 20 players each server, huge scale taff'n, and those players just storming through, teams of four guilded mates just lurking moving quietly like unarmed swat through the medieval streets...grrr man, freelancers etc just all out chaos.

Imagine Meeting another freelancer on friendly terms taff'n, get chatting...

"What the horn of Quintus you say?"
"Yeah only 4 guards in the castle"
      "Lead the way"
      "Got msn!?"
      “ASL1?”

      Ahaha.

I don’t know, I can see it in my head but it couldn't work.

Thief/thievery based MMO = scary, yet awesome thought.

Played properly (which it wouldn't be), it would be the most incredible experience ever.

I think it would be possible to create an MMO mod for the Unreal 3 engine, but it would require alot of servers else you would get server flooding... It would also need alot of server maintainance to prevent servers crashing and data getting destroyed.

Not to mention the costs you would have to pay to have your own servers O_o

Are there other MMO engines that support modding? No point in creating the base MMO code from scratch if there are other MMO engines that support modding like this.

Well there you go.. use Huxley as a base. Tho they likely wont release the code.
