  • GUARDS VS GUARDS!

    I was thinking about NB when sudenly this question came to my mind:
    If thieves get some hack and slash action in NB why not the guards?
    I know the main issue is finding that blade but if the guilds are having a war why cant the nobles have wars on thier own?

    It could be sorta of like the assault mode in HALO:
    - two teams, two bases
    - round 1, red team tries to reach a captue point located deep into the blue base
    - everytime the capture point is reached the teams change roles
    - round 2, blue atacks, red defends
    - probably a limited number of lives as well as a timer
    or
    - one single round, team who won previous round atacks 1st, after a certain amount of time teams switch roles
    - timer reaches zero and map ends
    - infinite spaws and enough time to have at last 2 or 3 waves for each team

    In some maps the objective could be getting an item and taking it to the home base, of course that on this game mode neither of the teams is able to ghost.

      Buho's got a point. BTW I was thinking of a noblewars gametype which would be:
      *2 teams(2Nobles + Guards)
      *2 castles in a fair distance one from another
      *heavy long ranged weaponry vehicles
      (ballistas,catapults and stuff)

      The team that kills the castlelord and takes over the other castle wins. But the other devs told me this way to much work to deal with right now. Perhaps some of you could help out doing some models or whatever you can to help so this might be actually done. Now without the vehicles this gametype wouldn't differ very much from normal GuildWars.

        Not wanting to flame Buho personally (he just stated his point of view). But this kind of thinking is IMO what caused so much bitching about the balance system and ultimatley to the partial failure of TUT in getting more players.

        Too bad, guards will continue to be lame firespamers, shadow slahshers, campers, speech spamers, etc etc.

          great idea for a mode, Antero. i guess we could throw in some flamethrowers and jeeps, too. why dont we just call it Nightblade 1942?

          actually, i sort of like it. better to include a mode like that than have people whining for it in a patch.

            well, if there was a game type where one team has to defend 1 player "the noble" that would be cool. But then would the team have limited or unlimited lives?

              Yeah, the "noble" player for each team could have extra health, dmg, and armor, bt only 1 life. His guards could be...guards, with 2 or 3 lives. It'd be like chess! But better.

              And for added touch..each team could have 1 or 2 assassins (thief type). It would be a class based version of NB then.

                Jeah like:

                Choose your class:
                1. Noble (1)
                2. Guard (5)
                3. Assassin (thief) (2)

                I think that would be a good replacement for the RPG, since it seems that mode isn't going anywhere. :?


                The noble would be a guard with a different skin, looking more expensive than the other guards. He would use the same voicepack that the director uses in TH-Aquatone.

                And if there aren't enough players, the Guards or nobles could be played by AI.
