  • Flares Burn Moss

I think that guards......or thiefs..i suppose...should be able to use a flare in much the same way they use it to light a torch only instead to burn up moss. This would be an easy idea to implement and i think it should be made

While we're handing out more advantages to the guards, I think it should be added that torches put out by water arrows be harder to light back up.

That would even things out a bit more.

Removing moss is actually a good idea, but instead of flares it should be burned with firebolts.

Using a 100 loot object to counter a 30 loot object is wrong. It's too expensive. I think flares burning moss is a better solution - sure flares are free via the chest, but since you don't get your trops back, it's not a complete counter to moss anyway.

That all depends on how long the moss burns: time is more valuable to thieves. Of course a thief could use a water arrow to extinguish the fire (the moss is destroyed regardless) or he/she can run through the fire ...

This has been suggested before, and the various extrapolations have also been explored before, but since we're dredging up old discussions here's what I liked from the previous thread:

                  - Firebolts instantly burn all moss patches they hit (expensive but quick solution)
                  - Flares burn moss, but slowly, one patch at a time, taking a few moments of holding the flare on it (while it puffs similar to lighting a torch) before each patch ignites and burns away (cheap but slow solution)

                        Flares wont do.

Moss contai a great deal of water. Either you'll have to dry it with your flare first, or you need napalm.

There is no napalm in TUT.

Flares WILL do, if they're coded to. What do you think this is, real life?

Moss that is alive, yeah. I've never seen or heard of brown moss, like the moss in TUT. So I assume that means it is dead moss, which will burn nicely.

In any case, as LR said, you're looking for realism in a game where an arrow creates moss on any surface?

I have seen brown moss. And the moss in TUT is green, but with low saturation.

Btw, if the moss would be dry, don't you think a *CRUNCH*-stepsound would be better?

Take the broom already in the maps instead!
