I think that guards......or thiefs..i suppose...should be able to use a flare in much the same way they use it to light a torch only instead to burn up moss. This would be an easy idea to implement and i think it should be made

Flares Burn Moss

While we're handing out more advantages to the guards, I think it should be added that torches put out by water arrows be harder to light back up.
That would even things out a bit more."I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory,
even stopper death - if you aren't as big a bunch
of dunderheads as I usually have to teach." -- Professor Severus Snape.

Removing moss is actually a good idea, but instead of flares it should be burned with firebolts. No Linux, No Choice.

This has been suggested before, and the various extrapolations have also been explored before, but since we're dredging up old discussions here's what I liked from the previous thread:
- Firebolts instantly burn all moss patches they hit (expensive but quick solution)
- Flares burn moss, but slowly, one patch at a time, taking a few moments of holding the flare on it (while it puffs similar to lighting a torch) before each patch ignites and burns away (cheap but slow solution)

Moss contai a great deal of water. Either you'll have to dry it with your flare first, or you need napalm.

In any case, as LR said, you're looking for realism in a game where an arrow creates moss on any surface?

Btw, if the moss would be dry, don't you think a *CRUNCH*-stepsound would be better?
Take the broom already in the maps instead!
