  • Knocked out Guards are "unkillable"

    So here is my Idea.

It would be a lot better, if knocked out guards would die, if they are thrown in water/fire or from a rooftop, just like in Thief I + II.
I know, in Gerome for example, when you KO a guard, thwow it in fire, wait 5 minutes.... then it burns when it is "resurrected", but not before.....
In Skeltson_Head, it's the same with water... when zhe 5 minutes are over.... BAM, the guard stands on the jetty.....
And you can't kill a knocked out guard with sword/bow, too.
So the Thieves have either to ghost (<-- i do that), or to kill the guards....
    Mhh, what's your opinion?

This was done by design so thieves wouldn't just kill all the guards after they KO'd them...
It's not my fault everything you like is terrible.

On demand this signature has been changed. I hope nobody was insulted or got harmed due to my signature. If this is the case, I'm fully responsible for the harm that was done. Do you feel harmed or you simply want a listening ear?

        I see Big_D's point.

It's the great equalizer, since guards can't KO thieves.

If a thief wants to kill a guard, they'll have to do it on an equal footing with the guards.

This came up just a week ago and as already stated it is a feature, not a bug.

It's not going to change because otherwise it would remove the point of guards waking up...waking guards was put in to stop thieves BJ-whoring levels.

REALISM: If you threw an unconsious person in water/started slapping them about they would wake up and be pretty pissed off.

Would be liable, except thieves death dealing weapons, are slower, weaker, and just plain worse than the guards.

Swords are slow, bows do 10 less than guards, guards have 25-50 more health, etc.

But guards can't hide in and attack from the shadows either.

Or am I just being a total newb again?

Shadows dont exist against firespammers, tags, or flares.

Well. Any real player has already expressed a strong dislike of firespammers. It's a taboo in the eyes of the experts.

I hate firespammers as well, but the fact remains that people firespam.

Another point, thieves can't hide well enough with a sword drawn. So HTH is virtually useless, especially with the slowed attack ratios.

And, lots of people would argue, though I disagree, that firespamming is a legitimate tactic.

                              Firespamming's a n00b tactic, plain and simple.
                              The only constant is change.
(And I wouldn't have it any other way.)
