    Is it a good idea to add a tutorial map ?

    I made a example tutorial map for thievery, maybe you can add this one,....

    I had this idea too a while back ago. Thievery has a very large learning curve, especially if they've never played Thief before. I think it would be a good idea to make a single player only map that details some basic strategies of each team and has small demonstrations for each piece of equipment.

      I really like this idea. During the map, small pop-up messages could appear (if possible) to tell the thief (and guard, of course), what to do now. Or, even better, they copy the style of the thief training map and build in a speaker ......... and a basketball court 8)

        Started something like this. Small part yet. But hey, if your map can do what i was planning to do .. i'll stop making it

          Yes, Phae! Be of service to our noobs so they stop ruining perfectly good games!
          I like having a voice in the map better than popups though. Whoever does make this though, they'd have to be good at scripting, cause it would take just as much scripting as map building. One last thing, when they finish the tutorial, have the voice come up and reccomend that they spectate a map once or twice if they have never played it. :grin:

            Well, I will upload my level now.

            My tutorial is based on the unreal 1 map, Nalic.unr (you know,..the castle in the intro scene of unreal 1).

            I have some problems with this map, like scripts, events, moving doors, etc.

                Maybe we could use books to tell stuff to people.

                I also suggest mentioning of common problems with ladders, and windows.

                A mantling course would be also cool.

                  Why not have some proper voice-acting, as per Thief?

                  I was thinking of doing a tutorial map myself, but I doubt I would ever have got around to it.

                          You can change position, style, effects and more... and it's easy.

                            If you have played my map, you know that all lessons, tips, hint are triggered.

                            -added a practice mission in the tutorial map.
                            -added A bow & arrow practice event.
                            -added a "hide for the guard" event.

                            Try to download my tutorial map, and give me tips or feedback.

                              I saw something that looked like a target for bow practicing, I saw the "Watch out for guard", what i didn't saw is this : a guard itself, any noticeable results after shooting the target...
