Suggestion: Appearance Customization

It would be cool if you could choose how you looked (like UT) instead of just having a random face texture... and the addision of new clothes would be cool too.

We already have custom loadouts.. why not go all the way?

Also, I don't want to have to download peoples faces into my cache, whenever I log onto a server.

Customs skins? Avatars in-game? Why?

Sure, Sprays in Half-Life can be funny... But there really is little point.

Especially when it costs people extra lag/download and processing power.

Because people would rather look like specific ugly thieves/guards rather than random ugly thieves/guards

Hmm...wouldn't that be rather weird in-game, too? If you are watching a guard, then all of the sudden he changes color...sounds like that voo-doo stuff to me.

Right now, they dissapear and can suddenly respawn wearing helmets, carrying stuff they previously didn't have.

If it was inbuilt like UT then its gonna be good to have. Custom files and meshes.skins arent a good idea.

Ah, I see. So you guys are just FLAUNTING that devil-magic stuff all over the place then, huh? 8) Well then, some standard skins that exist in everyones directory might be cool...if it doesn't hurt gameplay.

You post an awful lot about a game you never play Kiech...... its bad cos you have no clear view on things (like who gets what weapons etc.... tricks and tactics etc...) but i like you cos all your views have to be objective

Thanks Agga, I really do think this is a cool game. I am just trying to learn all your dirty little secrets before I can afford to go out and get the game myself, so I don't get smacked around TOO hard...I tried reading that FAQ, but they seem rather incomplete to all the info I get from this forum.

LOL...I think I got the KO thing down...I find myself BJ whoring all the time now when I play Thief. But I gotta get used to all of the different items and gameplay.
